I'm more than glad to answer your questions.
1. Where is this store opening at?
The store will be based in internet. If you visited my site, you saw that I already set up a forum. The whole site will be an online community for musicians who want to share their works and products. We are also working on setting up another part of the site where indie groups can list their CDs.
2. Who do you have lined up as your main product lines so far?
I've got positive reply from Pignose and two Chinese producers of guitar effects. Planning to get equipment with our logo on it through one of them. Also, Kobian Corporation is gonna supply computer parts (for upgrades in home studio PCs etc.).
3. Are you planing on purchasing the product to sell, or recieving the product, then paying based on it selling?
With small producers we most likely go for drop ship option as that way they control their supply and shipping better. But we make individual contracts with different manufacturers.
4. How long till you open the doors? (what kind of inventory do you have on hand and ready to ship?)
We are still looking for more products. The website is being programmed and designed by a professional firm at the moment. Probably in 2 weeks we are ready to open the store for public. The online forum is opened already and welcomes everybody.
5. Is this boutique only or do you plan on trying to compete with Guitar Center and their online services like MF?
We have no plan to compete with the big stores... theres no chance we could possibly survive doing that. Our main intention is to help small manufacturers to find a way to potential customers. I'm a musician myself and many people have mentioned me that this kind of possibility is missing today. I hope my good intentions will be welcome.
