I'm interested in your thoughts on the BLUE line. Not so much the Baby Bottle, because I've tried that one.
I'm talking the vocal mics like the Berry, Dragonfly, Kiwi, Mouse, etc.
They seem to get a lot of mixed reviews. I've heard some vocal recordings with these mics that sounded absolutely creamy and luscious. And I've heard some that sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard . . . particularly on sibilances and hard consonants.
Reviewers all report that they're quarky when it comes to angling and placement.
So what's the real story here? Are they a truely professional line of mic, or are they just a harsh, sibilant piece of crap? I'm interested in picking up a Dragonfly, and I'll be happy if it only sounds wonderful only half the time. I have other mics I can use during the times it sounds shitty.
Thanks!
