The first two are acronyms:
SPDIF = Sony/Phillips digital interface
TDIF= TASCAM digital interface
TASCAM's DA-88 is a digital multitracker
I think the DA means digital audio, and the 88 is because it is 8 tracks, or because it uses Hi-8 tape, or both.
