this was a moment for me....
a one take on the solo.....
it was all about capturing a vibe, at an incredibly loud volume, at times all i had to do was touch the guitar, and something would happen.....

it's not a great recording, or arrangement, or whatever, but it does space me out......;)

PFFfffffffffffffft..........it's gotta cool beat..........it's easy to trip to........I give it a 83.........'ear... take this thing:cool:
Kind of a Satrioni meets Waters thing. This is actually pretty cool.

yeah...I hear the pink floyd feel.. but it sounds more like a reverby robin trower instead. kinda cool, but the recording doesn't do it justice, like you mentioned.

nice job..............i didn't have any real problems with the production.......it sounded like everything was in place and all.......for an instrumental, i think it was a little long.....not that instrumentals can't be long, but it did get a little monotonous at times given there were no real different sections.......this is the kind of thing that would be great to jam on live for that long, but might need to be tapered down for a true production.........you did say that you were just going for vibe, and you definitely captured that.......good job

I only wish I had a room where I could try something like this and not get arrested and evicted. I hope you got the guitar solo on a separate track so you may want to " Zappa" it into another song at a later date. He used to record his guitar solos that he played live and insert them into studio recordings. If those drums were re-done by a human and some beef added, I would enjoy it more. I do like the percussion things in the backround tho and the guitar sounds are increcible! Very nice, Charva

Pretty Spacey

That reverb really gives this a space feel! :)

Ya, this is definitely a late-night kinda trippy tune ... also would make a pretty cool driving through the desert kind of tune...

Pretty cool stuff! :)

Reaaaally laaaid back tune. Smooth lead. I like the hi-vol thing feeding into the pickups.

A little slow in parts.

its most likely that the pink floyd feel is from the synth'd drums and delayed bass....the reverb doesnt hurt either :)

too long though...short and sweet

GONZO-X,

I was there with you man. The feeling you get when you nail a track, and listen back. It's an incredible feeling. After listening to this a couple times, I know you got that feeling.

THANKS FOR SPACIN' OUT WITH ME, FOLKS!

TRACK RAT-
pffffffttt...... thanks.......;)
satriani meets waters, eh? i hadn't thought of that, that might be something to tap into......

mixmkr-
yes, this is an older recording, done to 8 track cassette....
but any darkness in the sound, is probably there cuz, for some reason or another, it sounded good at the time..... the reverb on the shaker, the delay repeats on the drum machine, all of it made for some spacey effect.....

powderfinger-
i agree, it is long.... and maybe it would help to rewrite the bass parts, to create a little more harmonic content....
the idea was to get that vibe, have it really spacey, in terms of melody, and it took time to draw out those ideas.... i was having a hard time deciding whether to really pull it out that long or not, and ultimately i felt like it had to be that way...

sometimes i find myself totally lost in it, and space out and forget it, in a sense...
and other times, when i'm in a hurry, i don't have the patience for it! ;)

Charva-
yes, getting evicted is definitely a good reason not to run a boogie on 10.....
LOL
i was in my own house at that time........
now i rent again........
bummer.
thanks for the complements on the guitar sounds..... i don't know if i have the capability in the tracks now, to pull out that solo...... that's ok, i'll just do it over.....

boydrj-
yes, space, the final frontier.......
and yes, in the desert, that'd be perfect...... just the opposite of the original idea (outlined on the song page....) but still just right.....

jake-owa-
the feedback was so simple........ just turning here and there, aiming the strings back at the cabinet...... waiting for something to happen, and then jumping on it....
the slowness was intentional. it's pretty much the opposite of what i usually do, someone asked me if i ever played anything slow, so this was their answer........

jono_3
there's no delay on the bass, just the kick, if that's what you meant....
maybe i should edit a short version....i seem to be losing everyone on the long version.........

dtb-
yeah, i was in a zone for this one....... and i know, going into it, that i'm going to have to settle for some flubs, or sharp or flat bends, or weird shit going on, just to get the vibe.... that really was the experiment....

thanks for all the listens!

Good jam. It got a little long without much changing. I liked it though. Your a good guitar player! I liked your last song too!

nice guitar tone

a nice vibe, great guitar tone. now i want a boogie! tim,

definitely cool! I enjoyed the listen..

and your right...

the song does lend itself well to substance abuse.. :)

sabbath's been a bad bad boy.......

the song does lend itself well to substance abuse..

i said "Use", not abuse!
LOL

it's all good.......

I like this kinda playin. It sounds like some Trower to me. I could hear some gilmore there also. Hum, ever went skiing on mushrooms? LOL I lived in Tahoe for a few years back when I was in my early 20's.......Worked at Northstar Ski resort. Those were the days......

Great Tune !!
Nice feel !!

I had a Boogie in my previous life (13 years ago)
There is nothing like it...........
I gotta save my rubles ! Hearing your stuff makes me remember why I bought on in the first place!

The mix as a whole works really well for the feel. No real sonic roller coaster. You blended all the Gits real well !

Thanks for sharing!
Joel
