Amp Hum

My amps make all sorts of weird noises. 70's models: Fender Champ and Deluxe Reverb. It's funny - I can get really fussy about preamp hum or fuzz, but I just plain expect my guitar amps to make lots of shitty extraneous noises.

My Marshall D.I. is humming like crazy. Help TSL 100

Does anyone know why I would be getting a humm buzz hiss kinda of noise out of the D.I. only? even on stand by it does it . Oh the in question is a TSL 100 Marshall. The sound coming out of the speakers is fine with no noise ( except my playing Ha ). Please help I am shut down for late night recordings . Thanks Darryll

It's probably due to a ground loop. If there's a ground lift switch on your direct box, flip it on. If not, try disconnecting the ground/shield on the cable that goes from the direct box to the preamp/sound card/recorder.
