are Alverez guitars any good? my friend just bought one, sounds ok but i just want to know what everyone elses thoughts are.

Ive never played their higher end models, but their entry-level guitars are some of the best sounding for the money, I think. I've been playing a Regent for a long time and I love the sound. I put heavier strings on it, never had it properly set up, and it plays like ass because of it, but the low-end on it sounds really good for a cheaper guitar.

I bought a $200 one for a friend and it really totally outclassed everything else I compared it to in that price range.

Now, as far as their Yiari upper-end stuff, I have no idea how they stack up to comparably priced instruments.

I have an Alvarez nylon string, electric-acoustic, cutaway with a cedar top. An excellent guitar.

I own a solid body electric Alvarez 4-string bass guitar that I love. I know that they don't make the solid body stuff anymore, but the quality on this bass is very good, and the company is the same so I hope that my opinion still helps . Enjoy!
