Advice on which USB preamp?!

I am just starting out in home recording and am looking to get a USB preamp. I will be using it primarily to record vocals and acoustic guitar through microphones. So far I have looked at the Presonus and Tascam modules, and have seen less then great reviews for them. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations in the $150 - $350 price range?

Oh yeh. USB 2.0 obviously

thought that was worth mentioning, just incase some old 1.1 stuff was recommended.

Also, been looking at the EMU 4040 USB, anyone have any experience with this?
