Ok, I am VERY aware that each EQ situation is very different, and good placement takes the place of eq. But is there a standard or most used eq for acoustic guitar once it's tracked. For example to get muddy out of it I drop 250hz by about 4db. Now that's about the extent of my tweaking, what are the "common" tweaks on it. Again I know that it's all relative, but what's the most common.

I routinely roll off everything below 80 Hz, other than that I try to use mic positioning to make it fit in the mix.

I'll sometimes roll off the high end as well, especially if there's too much harshness from the mic. I often have this problem with my Rode NT1 and Oktava MC12s.

What do you consider the high end?
Are you talking about cardioids?

It depends on the song. Sometimes the acoustic high end is competing with the percussion or other instrument that has a lot of high frequency content so I'll start rolling off at say 12kHz and slope it down gently, or not so gently, like I said, it depends.

Sometimes I'll just whack everthing above 16kHz.

All my mics are cardioids.
