about the audiophile 2496 soz..

Everyone is probably sick of audiophile questions but here goes..
I just want to know what the Maudio audiophile 2496 is used for?? and why its better than say... a soundblaster live ? is it because of the digital inputs? or something else? Cause its a lot more expensive than a soundblaster and i just want to know why.. THAnks :)
 
just use both...

I use the 2496 for doing audio recording due to the quality of the a/d d/a converters being so efficient in transparently processing the signal in real time with virtually no latency, which the live just can`t compete in this area.

The live is a good midi interface though, and the built in synth is fine for scratch tracking and song building, although by some serious sweat time eq work it can be made to sound really fine.
