A few of you guys may remember a little while back I posted a tune of a band doing a Uriah Heep cover and I mentioned hooking up with their singer and drummer. Well, this is our first stab at something. Pretty much just faders up. No lead guitar or harmony/backing vocals yet and only the scratch vocal but I was just jazzed and wanted to share it. This is a big departure from what i've been doing and I'm having a blast with it. Tell me what you think so far. http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=1331&alid=-1
Oh, and the song is Victim

aaahhhh the 'classic metal' sound.. love it.. even the recording has that sound.. this has to be an amp yes?

let me be your roadie/weed connection.. :)

That would be Road Manager wouldn't it?:D Yeah, it's Ampeg head of some kind into a closed back two 12" cab mic'd with a 4033.

That git riff is the coolest thing I've heard in awhile. The singer kinda' has a Queensryche (sp?) thing going on. HUGE range.

The riff is the coolest part of what is heading in the right direction.

Rock on,
Chris

Mike...

this kicks some serious...boooootaaay...
great drum sound AND PLAYING...
killer ruffie singing...
bass holds the bottom perfect...
you on gtr??? it rocks dude... Don't tell me that is your tele!!

you lucky shit to find some good talant to play with... I'm jealous...

more, more, more.....

good lord, that is SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no complaints here.....this kicks serious ass.......

I'm playing bass on this so far. The singer is playing the guitar. It's a Gibson SG. He's left handed yet he plays a right handed/strung guitar just turned over. It looks bizarre when he plays.

ShiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiT!! Damn i wanna hear this again when you get everything polished down. You lucky bastard you:D , hey that was some bad ass bass playing man...really! Singer got's some pipe's man. Love it love it love it!

Heavy!

Killer riffs! Reminds me of something from the 80's...Maybe Queensryche...

Very cool stuff. Great vocals and very strong playing!

Sounds great over here!

:)

Frickity fook! Sounds good, I mean this ain't what I listen to at all, but the recording sure is good. Is this a home recording? What's the gear? Drums are great (if those are fakes, well, fug me). At 1:11 and 4:18, did you use the Antares Ball-Squeezer?!

Hey wicked Trackrat!

Nice drumming for sure. Really like the toms.

Kick seems like it could use a bit more definition.

Nice job TR!

I thank everyone for the positive comments. Definately real drums. D-112's on the kicks into a DBX-386, SM-57 into a Envoice MindPrint on the snare, AKG C-1000's on the rack toms (4) to two channels of a HHB tube mic pre, a C-3000 to a HHB Fatman on the floor tom, Octava MC-012s to the other two channels of the HHB on the overheads and two AT-4033s out about 3' in front of each kick.

nice recording.......the drums do sound great........nice riffing on the guitar..........i'd definitely like to hear it again if you add harmony vocals and stuff.......nice work

Total baddass!! I like the hell out of that.. tights as dicks hatband. hug that drummer for me, for tangin up near the bell on that cymbal "it puts the over in drive!" lays it out real nice for folks to dance around it. Vocals, guitar, bass, all cool, punchy as fuck!!

Cheers, and then some Cheers man!

:D

OT:

TR - I went to listen to Victim, but when I saw it labeled "metal" I decided to dl Back At You instead. It rocks! Chicago blues. :)

The recording is real clean and sounds pretty professional. Just what I would have expected. Nice job.

*You will now be returned to your regularly scheduled program.*

bee you tee full

You're the envy of all here with those awesome drum recordings you do... man, crawdad would give his beard to get that kind of drum sound on his stuff ;)

Tight groove... very very cool... does sound Maiden-ish, with some Axl Rose type wails in there... the spooky guits sound a bit like your Winter brothers... but a much more up front, and clean rock sound than everything I've heard from 70's rock...

Coulda SWORN it was you who said "Don't post works in progress" a few months back... maybe not :D

Anyway, I could kick back with a whole ALBUM of this stuff... maybe even crack open a BEER?!

Great stuff :p

Thanks again folks. I really apprciate it. I used to play in a metel band about ten years ago and walked away from it. It feels great to do it again.
dachay2tnr, thanks for the listen just the same.
:D
participant, I don't believe i've said anything to that affect, but I have heard that mentioned before. While I would rather present finished songs, I was too excited with this one. Except for a guitar double, this was written and recorded in one evening. Again, I thank everybody for the listen and responses.
