bits are out of tune and out of time but hopefully you can ignore that :D

Any thoughts on the mix?

Cheers,

Ian.........

Wow! Sounds a lot like my recordings! lol

Good job, lead was fun to listen to, like the melody. I like trancy rock (big prog rock fan :) ).

The snare sound doesn't work, need something with a little beef to it, ya know? ;)

Overall it has plenty of merit on its own. Good work!

Very nice recording... (once the Sonic Youth stuff cleared out at the beginning :D)

Sounds like you're getting some more bass in your recordings (good thing) since that last song ("Exactly"?)... which was a GOOD mix that lacked in low-end.

Would be interested in seeing what you add to this.

BTW what is your recording chain? (Mics/pres/front end/DAW... etc ... analog tape?)...

Very nice, Sonic Youth influenced (obviously)... Dig it.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Participant, I use an sta adac2000 card to my computer. Recording with sonar. I have a joe meek mq3 which I use for recording vox, bass and acoustic. 1 sm57 :p Geetars are POD apart from the acoustic.

I honestly have never heard sonic youth by the way, but it sounds like i may like them :)

I've done some vocals now (I can't sing very well though)

If you want to hear it, it's here:

Oh and this is not my band, just a little thing i did. May take it to the band but it's a bit different from what we do collectively.

Thanks again............

You will like Sonic Youth...check them out! They don't get bluesy though like you do. Very fun little instrumental. Nice playing.
Kick drum seems a little heavy. I'm listening in my headphones because my girlfriend is still sleeping (and I'd like to keep it that way :)), so it might not be so heavy otherwise. Most everything else is panned rather hard, so the kick is heavy in headphones. I agree with Pinky's snare comment.
Should make a really good live tune if you bring it to the band.
