Well,....get cookin'! Just don't get any grease on the walls/ceiling before the painting and splash are done or you might not get a good bond.
Yeah, having trouble findng a tile I like for the backsplash. Probably hit a couple more stores this week.

Got the town plumbing and electrical inspectors due tomorrow. Hopefully they’ll sign off with no issues. Although if they don’t, it’s the plumbers’ and electricians’ problem.

Pretty sad that my post from 4 days ago is not only the last post in this thread, but the last post in the Prime Time forum. :(

Btw, had my town electrical and plumbing inspections done. Pretty much a joke. Electrical inspector plugged something into the countertop outlets to trip the GFIs that had been installed and pronounced everything fine. Never even looked at the electrical box, despite about 6 or 7 new breakers being installed. Plumbing inspector tried to pull the stove over - to make sure the anti-tip device had been installed - and turned on the faucet and moved it between cold and hot, and then he also pronounced it good to go.

Also got my backsplash tile, but still waiting for the installer to let me know when he can do it. For some reason all these tiles guys seem to have more work than they can handle.

It's because your comments on home remodeling coupled with my current situation at work throw me into an uncontrollable rage, therefore I must avoid this thread.

Actually almost anything throws me into an uncontrollable rage these days, it's just a good thing I'm too tired to act on it.

GO BADGERS, beat the Scarlet Blight!

Oh yeah, I deal with inspectors on occasion, there are extremes. There are the guys who can't get done quick enough and then there are the guys who are going to find something wrong no matter what.

I dealt with a fire inspector regarding a fire door he wouldn't pass and I asked him for some specifics on code language regarding his fail and he couldn't cite any. I got the specs from the manufacturer showing everything passed national fire code and told him he should call the engineers and tell they what they are doing wrong. Of course the door passed inspection, the guy was just making shit up on the fly, trying to show how much power he had. I wasn't the only one who had problems with him and it was a huge project he was holding up.

Winter came early this year. I haven't put my lawn furniture away yet,I'm waiting for the snow to melt off it. It was twenty degrees yesterday morning when I woke up.

I've got to replace a sink in the downstairs bathroom, it's tiny and tight. I think I'm going to pay someone who knows what they're doing to do it. That's going to be my Christmas present this year. I guess I don't really need any new toys as I have no time to play with them anyways.

There's lots of fire McCarthy talk going on, I'm not sure it'll make a difference, but it seems like the team is in a rut of mediocrity.

LATER!!!

Just when you think things are bad with your team........be glad you're not a Raider fan........like me. That should cheer you up.

Nice, I'm jealous. You'll never have to do it again, unless you get married again, which I believe you also said you were never doing again.

The way things are going for me, remodeling the kitchen will be a retirement project. With one kid graduating from college in 2019 the other in 2020, and needing a new car sometime soon , I'll have neither the time or money. My kitchen is horrible.

Lol. Actually there’s a better chance of me remodeling the kitchen again, I think.

Giants are on a roll! One in a row. :thumbs up:

Happy Ham day here... ordered it at the local BarBQ...Brisket and Ham and Football.

Merry Turkey-Ham-Brisket-Stuffing- Potatos and Gravy, Football, No Work, Day!

Rooting for the Bears, Cowboys-local disease, and ..don't have to root for the Saints....

it probably wont get better than the recent Chiefs vs Rams game though.

Lost a nephew last week. 41 years old. :(

Seems he had lost his license due to a DWI. He had gone to an Indian casino near his house, and was walking home around midnight and got hit by a car. Driver stopped, so it doesn’t appear to be a drunk driver. Not clear whether my nephew was drinking or not.

There was a service this week, and I drove by the casino. Its on a pretty major road (4 lane highway), and there is construction going on. Given the time of day, it’s not hard to see how this happened. (This was in PA, BTW.)

Just a shame, and way too young.

Wow that sucks, sorry to hear.

I leave for work when it's dark and there seems to be a lot of people who choose to walk in the street rather than take the sidewalks for some reason(?). What makes it worse is they'll be wearing dark clothing. I don't wear a helmet when I ride my bike, but I do wear a dayglo reflective vest, being seen is the most important thing when you're on the road.

Thanks.

Played one of the new Taylors recently. They have this new concept called V bracing. Acoustic guitars are typically braced in an X pattern. They completely changed the bracing concept and have been raving about the results. Claim it rids it if non-harmonic overtones, and significantly improves intonation. Can’t say how much of this is marketing hype, and Taylor guitars have always had really good intonation.

That said, the one I played was really sweet. Mostly I liked the sound, and the playability was much better than my current Taylor. Really tempting me to open the purse. If I could get enough on a trade for mine, I might do it. They ballparked me without actually seeing my guitar, and it was pretty far off from what I need. I could try listing it on Craigslist, but with the recent kitchen remodel and Christmas coming around, better to wait. :o

Have you ever considered having your neck adjusted?

The only way you're getting your money back is through a private sale, but that's a hassle. Luckily all my instruments are so cheap, they're not worth selling.:)

I nearly hit a kid on a bike recently. A car coming at me on the left, the kid in all dark clothing including a black stocking hat coming at me on the right side of the road. It was close, got my heart racing. The cataract surgery I had on the one eye left me seeing a really starry glare when looking into light. I should probably go ahead and get the other done, but i'm kind of concerned i'll get the same results in the other eye. If so, and it sounds small, but i'll never see a round moon again. I'm not sure whose fault it would have been if I had hit that kid. In a way, i'm not sure it matters. Same result. He's badly injured, or dead, and I would have to live with it.

Sorry about your nephew.

An old friend (was actually my older brother's age, but he was an instrumental in my life in encouraging me to play guitar, perhaps my biggest fan), i'd lost track of him and had recently heard he was ill. Turned out he started having problems around the middle of September, peeing blood, I think. He died November 19th. Cancer. By the time it became more common knowledge, I didn't get to see him. Few did. My brother was allowed in 2 days before his death, said he looked like a 90 year old man. He was 57. I've long since had to take off my shoes to count the number of close friends who are no longer here. RIP, Jimmy.

I used to think life is long, I suppose many of us do when we are younger. It is hard to believe how quickly life goes by now that I am older. This last year has flown by, each day, week, month, I can't believe winter is here, nearly Christmas. If there is any truth that time goes by more rapidly the closer you get to the end,....

Sorry, don't mean to be a bummer this beautiful (cloudy and gloomy) Sunday afternoon.

To lower the strings? I’d be worried it woukd affect the intonation and give me string buzz. It’s a great instrument in many respects, but not eminently playable.

Sorry about your friend, Mick.

I also had cataract surgery. Both eyes, about a month apart. Didn’t get any star effects. In fact, at first my vision was great and I didn’t need glasses for either reading or distance (I wore bifocals prior to the surgery). After awhile I started to need reading glasses for reading or working on the computer. Still ok on the distance vision though.
