Electric Sitar

Has anyone ever seen or made an electric sitar? I've got an old fender musicmaster that I want to turn in to an electric sitar. I'm told all you need is a special bridge. Any suggestions?

I recall reading about elec sitars a few weeks ago but I'm damned if I know what site it was on. Normally they have a set of (short) drone strings along the top bout and the bridge for the "normal" strings incorporates a flat plate which contacts the underside of the strings giving the buzz.

Google is your friend..............try it ;)

i have a cheap copy of the coral.
I think it's branded " rouge".

It's actually quite functional and you can find them used for $250 or less.

Or, you can track down a bridge, cut a new nut, and try and get all the different strings working right.

What is your time worth to you?
Plus, you run the risk of bunging up your guitar.

A ten second search turned up new from MF for $350

If you are patient, you can track one down for less.

I paid $200 for mine.
