Bring the tape recorder outputs to the M35 tape ins. You can find the M35 manual online in several places. Download and read it thoroughly and all head scratching will be eliminated.

Which inputs of the 35? There are 3 sets as I recall - line, mic, and tape monitor.

I assume that you just raise the volume of the amp at the head. If the dummy headphone plug turns the cab off, it's off. Volume boost won't change that. What does the amp's owner's manual say?

Use the preamp out to your interface. I doubt the phones out would sound all that good even if it did work. In addition, plugging watts into an input expecting line level might be detrimental to the interface.

1. Right click and drag mouse between the 2 cues to highlight area. 2. Press control & c together. 3. click on where you want to paste. 4. Press control & v together.

As I recall, place curser where you want the marker & hit F8.

Different strokes and all that. IMHO, it's much ado about very little to nothing gained.

Why go through all that when you can just do overdubs to tape and then transfer it all to DAW?

The specs for the play & record/sync heads are identical. The play head is there for alignment purposes more than anything else. Once the machine is properly set up, all work is supposed to be done from the record/sync head stack. In addition, recording new material while monitoring in play...

The are called, "companders." If you have the companion TASCAM dbx units for the 38, you just leave them alone. Assuming your machine & dbx units are aligned properly, AND you don't print ultra hot, they will keep your tape nearly as quiet digital. They won't mess with reverb tails.

It's actually called, "really nice mode." It's purpose is to make the compression as invisible as possible and it does exactly that. The incoming signal is held where it's placed in the mix with nothing added. That is what I want in a compressor most of the time.

Proper use of dbx I will keep the noise levels down without having to print ultra hot. It's also beneficial when bouncing tracks.
