How do you tell what to keep and what to toss from a lyrics perspective?

Concentrate on writing a WHOLE song with one or more of those lines you have jotted down. Until you have a whole lyric/song, its just a fragment so is not necessarily 'good' or 'bad'.

Not available for store pick up?

I was talking about the Player Mustang. It was $700 pre-Covid: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MustBPPJSS--fender-player-mustang-bass-pj-sienna-sunburst $150 set up on a bass? What are you doing, changing the pickups?

Not available for store pick up?

The only choices I saw at GC were the Gretsch and a Musicman which I didn't like at all when I plugged it in. The Fender Player Mustang hasn't been in stock since 2020. I found it easy to adjust the intonation on the Gretsch once I did the truss rod adjustment.

Sloppy playing! I tracked with speakers, no headphones, so there were times, specially in the last few recorded tracks, where I couldn't hear the drums that well, but the worst seems to be at the tempo change.

Finally got the chance to record my new Gretsch bass, just fooling around in the studio:

Strange Reaper behavior after Windows update

Windows 10 did an update this past week. Today, when using Reaper, I found the mouse clicking way too 'sensitive' - clicking once, and it was acting as if I clicked twice on many things, and other times clicking didn't do anything. Maybe the latest Reaper update will fix? I haven't bothered...

Puzzled about reverb explanations - sorry - I know I'm being dumbass....

    1) Yes, that's part of it, but EQ also plays a part in that. 2), No, putting different amounts of reverb on different tracks does NOT put a different 'room' on them, because the reverb 'room' is the same, only the amount of reverb is different. 3) Don't believe everything you see on youtube!

Question about using an Ebow with electric guitar.

You've got it backwards, the bridge pickup is the one closest to the bridge, not the fretboard!

    Mixing SOS

I don't know what you guys ^^^ are doing with EZD. In the mixer section of the GUI, there is a 'mic bleed' section (I think that some of the EZD 'kits' may NOT have this, but the ones I use do). One knob for snare bleed, the other for OH bleed. I keep the OH bleed off, so only the cymbals are...

    Strange Thing Happened In Reaper

Are you sure you are working with the actual track file, and not the peaks file? The peaks file has a '.wav' showing in the file name when looking at it in Explorer, but has an extension (.reapeaks) which can't be seen.

    Mixing SOS

You are right - you have to record decent sounds first. "You can't polish a turd' is an old recording axiom. I don't know why you are having issues with EZDrummer - other than setting the 'hit' levels (in the MIDI piano roll), it's pretty much all ready to go. Note: I do not use the EZD...

    Strange Thing Happened In Reaper

"Made a recording and renamed the wave file appropriately" - did you render to WAV? Reaper track files are not WAV, and there are two - the audio info and the 'peaks' file.

    CD Baby?

They DO look for your music (the actual recording, not others' versions) in various places (youtube, tictoc, etc), but you don't get a notice about it, and that's nothing to do with 'copyrighting'.

Not available for store pick up?

You're right, I didn't even notice the change in descriptions online, it definitely said 'humbuckers late last year/early this year when I was shopping around. I'll give it another day in the humid air here before adjusting the truss rod.

Just plugged it into my interface and listened through my monitors, adjusted the action and intonation, but the truss rod needs tweaking, almost no bow in the neck at all and the low E string still buzzes when playing the 3rd fret especially.

Picked up the Gretsch Electromatic Jet II *sunburst) just now. Still in the box (but I did take it out and play it there) - the only padded gig bag they had that fit it was $70! I'll shop for a case used or on fleabay.

Any of you familiar with Harley Benton Guitars?

Electric guitars: 90% of the sound is the pickups, player and amp. Acoustic guitars: 90% of the sound is the wood/construction and the player. Yes, lot of 'glowing' comments, but many indicating a setup and new saddle are really needed. For the lowball price, it's hard to fault it, and if...

Any of you familiar with Harley Benton Guitars?

^^^ Cheap electric guitars are a totally different thing than acoustic guitars. Try out some acoustic guitars in different price ranges. IF you can't tell the difference, buy the cheap one.
