they are very well priced too i think of the lowers ones as kinda flashier versions of ibanez soundgears (soundgears are also good basses for the price)

get a jazz then get some nice active pickups ... thats my vote

a ldc is probably gonna sound better but for a quick recording where sound doesnt matter then a pickup is pretty convienent also is very convienent for live although if you use it for live i would probably splurge on a nice pickup from experience the fishmans have made some pretty good acoustic...

beta52 is a bit more agressive its gets more of a click and from experience a little more of a low thump but the d112 is a bit more shapeable and will be better for a variety of styles

you shoudlnt be buying a pa for a home studio buy a set of monitors instead(unless you will need the pa for giging and your trying to conserve money) the oktavas are a pretty good choice i would say but people either seem to love them or hate them you might consider skipping on the mackie...

it could be said that recording a good track is based 95 percent on the musicians, if you have bad musicians its not your fault but it would be hard to ever make it sound good not only because of timing problems but changing dynamics etc

57s are that bad as overheads.... they arent as detailed or as bright but they got a kinda cool sound to them actually

i own one 2003 and a couple 603s but the 2003 got broken before i could try using it as an overhead which it seemed like it might sound nice on
