    Borrowed Time

Well, considering that Marc Storace is a Malteser like me......;) I'll fix those vocals....and if you need a denim jacket, I've got a spare one somewhere.:D Thanx, Greg!

    Borrowed Time

Sure you can Jason, I'll send you the drumless track if you'd like. Yeah, this is a first mix, so the levels are probably not all there yet. The style is more 80's I guess, just felt like belting it out against my ex-boss....;) Thanx for the comments!

    Borrowed Time

Another new one here, guys. Lovingly dedicated to my ex-boss (may his corporate rat's ass rot in Hell...:spank::cursing::D) Don't know about the bass tone, coud be a bit too muddy. Just tell me what you think. Once again with Steve on lead guitar. borrowed time_master_mp3.mp3 - File Shared from...

Ugh... I think it's getting worse.

First of all, ditch this mix. Then choose a song from your favourite band, the one that comes closest to this style. Put the song on a separate stereo track in your project. Put all the faders in your mixer at zero, all EQ dials at 12 o'clock. Remove any compressors and stuff you might have put...

This was a tough one ...

Another great Kev song with a great chorus! Everything sound good to me, but the drums don't do it justice. I feel the drum pattern is a bit too broken up and loose and soundwise, I'm having a hard time trying to make it ou, except for the snare, which has a real pop to it. Also, a bit more low...

Need help with vocals and new mic!

You know, in my opinion, it's the character of a singer's voice that determines the right mic to use and not the other way round. When I record vocals I try to get them to sound at least 95% good with all the EQ dials at 12 o' clock. Taking the mids out of them is not a good idea, that removes a...

    Purple Experiment - guitar instrumental

I think the only thing that this needs is better drums. Otherwise I thought the mix was nicely balanced and clear. Nice work!

"Work it Out" - hard rock hollerin' tune

The tune is damn good! I thought the EQing sounded all right. The lead guitar licks tend to be a bit louder than the rest. Not too fond of the drum sound, it lacks the right thump IMHO. But, great performance nonetheless!

    Booty Bandits

Cool tune, Mr Dragon.....kinda took me back to 1969 or something. Very groovy, funky, vintage style. My nits: the kick seems to be just low end, you don't really hear the beater slapping the skin. The rythm guitars sound a bit further away than the drums. Singing is great, all whiskey and smoke...

OMG ... I'm listening too much to me.

Wise words, Kev..... But then we are free from all those fashionable labels, because we do what we love. Being basically a metal guy, I have to say thatthe sound production which started in the 80's hasn't change dmuch in my genre, but even so, I wouldn't give a hoot to what anyone thinks. I do...

Silent Waltz - remix & mastered

Cool...there's no way you can put a label on this styl, Ray, folk-rock, pop-folk, traditional, Irish, whatever....and that's a good thing! Very haunting, in fact some nice reverb on the voice would make it even more haunting.

Hot off the press - "Gonna Break" - PoeticIntensity Original

Oh man, I'm so late here..... This is a great raw, rockin' tune, Jason! The only nit I could have would be the guitar sound. It's a bit too scooped for me, I would push those mids up more to give it body. But....still a great tune and Brad's solo is hot!!:guitar:

    Bridge to the Sun

Thanx Ray! The first one sounded really whimpy, with no bottom, because I hit the strings close to the bridge with my pick (sorry, not a finger player....!).

    Bridge to the Sun

Well then, I guess there's only one way to solve that problem, namly I'll have to replay it again. There is a touch of disturtion in the basic amp setting of that clean guitar, because that's what I was going for. I'll check that reverb again, too. Thanx GL!

    Bridge to the Sun

OK....third time lucky? I wasn't happy with the bass tone, so I replayed the bass again and fooled around withEQ on guitars and drums. Here's the new mix: bridge to the sun_master.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage
