Old school metal song from 2nd demo

Pretty good mix, man. Like the power metal style. Singer leaves a bit to be desired though....just my humble opinion.

    Thanatogenous

Hehe...considering the Thin White Duke hasn't been using his voice very much lately, I kind of decided to "borrow" it.....I'll make sure to hand it back by next Xmas though....promise....;):D

Hey Moresound, I record with a Neumann TLM 102 going into a Behringer Xenyx 1222, EQs all at 12:00. I've only got a 2-channel Edirol interface and I record in Samplitude. I didn't mix this so that's what Greg and Ray had to work with. When I mix my voice, I usually use a touch of the Entress...

Thanx guys, I believe Pygmy Beat is on to something good. I find it totally interesting to be doing something completely different to what I'm used to and working with great musicians.

    In Her Eyes

Simply wonderful, Gerry! You sing this so beautifully and the harmonies sound great. Yes, Jan' superb mastering qualities are evident, the sound is very round and full, with every instrument occupying the right frequencies. Well done!

Hey my tartan bro, this sounds so clean and clear, like out of a professional studio. More "musical" than your recent stuff. You wanna reggea voice, mon? I'll give it a try if you'd like me to....I love to surprise people!:p

    A Pop Tune

Real nice song, Pete! Sounds very professional to me. Yeah, the snare could use some bottom sound maybe, it sounds a bit too dull. But otherwise, I really like the mix. Good work!

    Never mind.....

No way are the vocals too loud! Great harmonies as usual..... The kit sounds beautiful, Rami, I don't hear any boominess. In fact what I hear is a kind of roominess about them that makes them sound totally alive, especially the snare. Great, great, great! :)

    What's wrong with my vocals?

Yes, they sound a bit too low in some parts. The kit should be kicking me in the stomach.

Violin New Age - Used different mic'ing technique.

Very nice piece, Jason. I didn't find the violin too loud, it sounded right to me. My only nit would be the drum sound, it sounds a bit buried to me. of course I'm not expecting heavy metal drums in a piece like this, but they could come out better and add a bit of magic...;) (but then Greg...

    What's wrong with my vocals?

Nothing wrong with the voice, you sing pretty good. I thought the vocal level was Ok. What doesn't convince me much is the drum sound, it's quite buried. Also you need something in the arrangement to bring the chorus out better. Something that makes the sun shine in that part, like distorted...

Kev and his big ass horn section ...

Another great tune, Kev. You always have such good hooklines in your songs. Chili commented about the pop on the snare, I actually thought it was a bit too much for this style, but there you see how opinions differ.... Of course, it does nothing to hinder the quality of the song or the mix. Nice...
