an instrumental that lends itself to substance use......

I only wish I had a room where I could try something like this and not get arrested and evicted. I hope you got the guitar solo on a separate track so you may want to " Zappa" it into another song at a later date. He used to record his guitar solos that he played live and insert them into studio...

    I'm a newbie!

cool, a kid with a plan! if i was you, i would start off and go play a bunch of keyboards and find one you love. then buy it. most newer keyboards i believe have all the inputs and outputs you will need later for recording. i don't play keys so any attempt to recommend an insturment would be...

First Timer preforming and might as well record

i assume your doing acoustic stuff at the coffeehouse. most coffeehouses, if they have open mic usually have a small PA system or something. you should be able to plug your acoustic guitar into the mixing board. they also should provide a mic to use. I do open mic often at my local coffeehouse...

A classic 45 single recorded in 1970 by my Dad

Very groovy man......like far out. You may be able to clean up the pops and crackles in Cool Edit Pro. I can't wait to hear the long version with the 10 minute drum solo. www.geocities.com/charvster

    Need some feedback!! Please

I listened to the last one (Wonder Full) Damn fine job! I thought the recording and the performance was very good. Your drummer is a maniac! I can't hear the bass guitar too well though. Tell him to crank it up, let loose and slap the snot outta that bitch.

    Sharkbite Boogie

the player Greg, was sitting in front of a Groove Tubes mic GT55, about 2 feet away. I used a reverb preset in Cool Edit Pro and EQ'd and put a fade in in the beginning. He is playing an old Oscar Schmidt guitar and a brass slide. Gonna have more stuff coming soon. Thx for the response, Charva...

I recorded a snippet of the horrible static noise. it can be found at http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/?aid=1338/singles.shtml The name is Static Test (down at the bottom of the page) I'm getting quite frustrated here with this problem. My next option is to remove Cakewalk PA 9 and...

Using CWPA9, Audiophile 2496, AMD 500 CPU, 512 meg memory. I will record 1 track (guitar part or something), when I try to lay a vocal track down in a separate track, the vocals sometimes sound distorted/scratchy when I play them back. I just recently installed the sound card and never had this...
