    What Mics Are Used Here?

I'm guessing AKG 451B as opposed to the AKG 451EB for the guitar. Mostly because its silver and new. Both mics did come in silver though. Also, if you freeze frame at 50secs you'll see that it is definitely a CK1 Capsule. Good call guys. I'm going to agree with Bruiser though. I didn't listen...

    FOR SALE/FOR TRADE: M-Audio ProFire 610

I doubt that there are compatibility issues. If we can help you solve the problems, would you rather keep it?

Maybe flush it and check for a counter clockwise rotation?

New Bargain "Pre-Modded Tube Mic" For The Soldering Skill Impaired...

Time I put my twopence worth into this thread. I had discussed this microphone with Kidvibes on a few occasions and have been considering buying at least one of their microphones at some point. However: It has been pointed out to me that on post 45 of this thread, I have given this particular...

    Rode nt 2000

It's common enough with figure 8 mics that both sides are different although the manufacturer usually aims to get both sides the same. I'd view it as a bonus depending on how I want to use the mic. If the mic is a multi pattern though, I'd wonder if the pattern selector isn't out. Try your mic...

Home studio rack gear + bass for slae

Really? I haven't. So things go missing when you buy from Americans, Canadians and British and they don't believe you. Seriously? I've had one American try to convince me that their stuff didn't arrive until I pointed out that I had tracking. They backed down immediately but it hasn't stopped...

Home studio rack gear + bass for slae

The question was to the OP, really. You never see a "German only" or "English or Scots only" sale but "Lower 48"? All the time. So really. When someone says "US sales only". Why is that? Just curious.

    Thinking of starting a business.

Me too. That's exactly the point I was making when I noted that Steinberg invented ASIO. They have been around for a very long time and have been used by many, many studios.

    Thinking of starting a business.

I get a chuckle every time someone says Protools is the industry standard or Shure 57 & 58 are industry standards. That may sell (to a point) in the US but I think AKG & Sennheiser may have something to say about their place in the world markets oh and Steinberg...... they invented ASIO. I work...

    "headphone splitter"

I have one and never use it. Headphone amps are really cheap though and I'm thinking that a person could come up with a number of uses for one.

    Zoom R16

I've parked the ribbons but I wouldn't expect that the Zoom could handle them on its own. The budget ribbons all require 80dB of gain and no DAW or Audio Interface offers that, to my knowledge. I'd have to hook up the Joe Meek 3Q or Golden Age Pre (That's all I've got) but don't see any reason...

    Zoom R16

Looks like we logged on together. Not bad for just a quick set up, eh? I have it sitting on the desk all of the time and not using it but if the Korg packed it in tomorrow, the Zoom R16 could take over in an instant.

    Zoom R16

:listeningmusic:Well that was interesting. I've uploaded an MP3 there so go ahead and listen but look for the quality of the recording and try to ignore the singer. I followed the simple instructions on how to open the project and set up each track using the mics as previously mentioned. They're...

Buying used mic on the "bay" a good or bad idea?

The Nady RSM 5 is about $70 and is a good, all round , ribbon mic. Would do for vocals, instruments & cabinets. The RSM 4 is the same price and is ideal for bass. The RSM 2 is a superb vocal mic but requires 80dB of clean gain.

Buying used mic on the "bay" a good or bad idea?

As soon as you buy a new microphone, guess what? It's used! Come to terms with that and E-Bay will become a valuable resource. I'm watching all of the time for bargains.
