I'm trying to be careful. But, I'll hold a note for a measure and other notes will just pop on like I've moved. But, I am still.
Is there any way to set up the recording so I don't get so many extra notes. It seems like if the guitar cable moves a note is added.
Thanks
So, I found a way to create a midi track from an audio track in melodyne. But, I saw a video tutorial regarding actually recording a guitar into a midi track by using VST. Which I have no idea what that is.
Here's my question. Is there a way I can have the guitar playing on one track, and have...
I'm not a techy. So, if this is something stupid and simple, EXCUSE ME. But, I just found out about an hour ago, and I'm beyond ecstatic.
Back in the 90s I wanted a midi guitar. I can play guitar better then picking notes on a keyboard. But, the technology has never really been there...
I enjoyed this a lot. For what it is, a once a year Christmas song, it's great.
If you were recording this for a label, I'm sure they'd change some things. But, it's not. It's really good just the way it is, for what it is.
For me, this is much better then the other video. It is sexy. It's HUMAN. Excellent job.
I'm just curious though: Is that a real human vocal or that machine that sings for a human? It has a great tone.
I kind of enjoyed this. Because I listen to music like this. It has a really cool slow sex dance (Sputnik's Dancearama), but it lacks the sex. Honestly, with a piece like this, it's the most important part. It could just be me, but I couldn't understand a single word in the vocal.
I enjoyed...
As a person that's tone deaf and can't sing (yet I do anyway), I certainly can't give advice on how to improve your voice.
What I can say is, keep singing. If there are artists you want to sound like, imitate them. BUT, if it doesn't come natural then it's probably not for you. There are...
I'm hopin' I'm playing in key. The first version I recorded I tried bending notes. You can LAUGH, one set of my "ears" said "If I had a dog he'd be howling" along with "Is this really you? Did you tune the guitar?"
This is the new version in key. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Lou's...
I don't know if anyone was able to help you. I don't know what that is. I never had that happen. Are you trying to record to a CD-R while playing?
Sorry it took so long to respond, I don't get out much anymore.
Celemony answered my question by explaining how to set up a tempo in a new window. I kept explaining that's exactly what I do.
Finally, I sent them via dropbox the melodyne file + the guitar.aif + an aif exported out of that file. I haven't heard back. I'm betting they're scratching their...
Normally I'd say it's me. But, I'm not this stupid. Up until today Melodyne has worked perfectly. I copy the Pro Tools Tempo into a new song on Melodyne, import the guitar and vocal and it plays perfectly.
Yesterday I spent a long time recording main vocals to three songs, and today I started...
On my best mixes (which is NONE) I easily place the instruments on the 100L - 100R spectrum. But I notice on real songs I listen to in headphones, there's areas of depth to some instruments. How do you achieve this?
Panning is for placement. But, is it volume + effect that gives it depth?
Is...
I wouldn't even attempt it. I was always amazed at the ease at how he did it. Of course he'd been doing it for over 20 years (at least) when I met him. But, the other studios I'd been in, it wasn't even an option.
Good to see so many still record analog. I do think there's a warmth to analog...
My first sessions way back when were at 8 and 16 track studios. The 16 track used 2" tape and you'd mix to 1/4" master. They were fine studios for what they were. But, if you blew a mix, you'd start all over again.
Then I found Don Casale Studio in Westbury NY. A great home 24 track studio...
I think this kind of explains why you have such great ears.
I was once driving a singer to the studio to do backing vocals. I played "The Prisoner" by the Clash and told her I wanted backing vocals like these, and she said "flat and out of tune?" If it's good enough for the Clash... But, she...
You have an excellent set of ears. Seriously, it all flowed BEFORE you pointed out the times. Now, I hear it. The first two are me slurring "and winter" together.
I do have to ask, what is classy tuning mean? I imagine "out of tune", I've never heard it said like that before. I just looked it...
This is the bass song with lead vocal added.
I melodyned one vocal 100% directly into the notes. Then duped that, and moved the notes a little off center and changed the vibrato.
Are these vocals ON? (not your preference. But, technically in tune) If there's any blaring errors (besides the...
