    Ashleigh's Eyes 2 Mixes

Thank you so much! I try. ---------- Update ---------- I just listened to both myself, and 2 is much better.

    Ashleigh's Eyes 2 Mixes

I do believe this is the final mix for this song. I had two up originally, but one sounds weak next to two. Any thoughts would be appreciated. BTW: The avatar is a painting by a magnificent surrealist painter Naoto Hattori. That painting with such detail is roughly 2.5" x 2.5". Ashleigh's...

    Electric Blue - Ouroboros

I created a post about arranging and this is a classic example of a really good song that's missing that last track(s). Perhaps someone who understands musical terminology can explain this better. You have your rhythm tracks which are perfect. Your melodic tracks basically repeat twice and...

Closer To God (Going through HELL)

This song is a tribute to my God. Who apparently HATES this song. Because when I think it's where it's suppose to be, something else is pointed out. BUT, I think this is it. YES, there's dissonance in the guitar work (not bass), for once I just really like it, and have decided to keep it in...

    Reverb Question

It's because most singers double their vocals on record. Live it's bare. So, reverb is added to fill out (if that's the proper phrase) their sound. Johnny Thunders used to CONSTANTLY say "More reverb. More reverb."

    Reverb Question

I've had one great paid gig, and it was offered without me looking. My band was Frances Farmer My Hero. My first CASSETTE was The Unauthorized Biography, a pop rock opera about the life of Frances Farmer the actress. In 1995 or 96 my friend made a cheesy website and some guy in Bolzano Italy...

    Reverb Question

I think I keep it within musical bounds. At least I hope I do. If I get ten people to like this, I'd be happy. I make fun of myself a lot, partially because it's true. But, even my songs pre-melodyne still have strangers that enjoy them. You can't ask for more than that. Though money is...

    Reverb Question

I have Pro Tools 6 and only have the reverb that comes with it. Small/Med/Large - Hall/Room 1 & 2/Ambient/ etc I'm mixing, and I do NOTHING with any true knowledge. I listen to what I like and leave it at that. I have one professional who rarely likes the amount of reverb I use (I just love the...

    Rise Up - Original

This isn't my style to listen to anymore (I love old Sabbath). But, this is excellent. Great job. I did a few tracks of trying old Sabbath style (In the only way I know how, uninformed guess work). It's not bad, it's not good. In the right hands, it'd probably be excellent.

    Your Vocal recording at home

I'm just throwing this out there. Sorry if someone already mentioned it. Record your keyboard on one track. Then turn the keyboard off, and play along with a turned off keyboard. The only thing you'd have to look out for is your fingers hitting dead keys. But, if you position the mic properly it...

    Believe

Thank you. I would love to have different reverbs. But, I record with Pro Tools 6 on the earliest G5. So, I'm stuck with the presets. I can't afford to upgrade at the moment.

Thank you. I LOVE reverb. It is definitely a specific taste. But, there's never enough for me. ---------- Update ---------- Thank you.

    Believe

I aimed to do a deconstructed break. It's weird. I like it, but I'm not exactly sure. Maybe a different effect on the vocal at that point. I don't know. The BG vocals are they in key? Believe by Frances Farmer My Hero | Free Listening on SoundCloud

    Arranging (IMO)

Alice's Restaurant didn't even need music. It's a folk story, and a great one at that. I owned the vinyl, and we used to hear it each Thanksgiving on the way to Karen's mother's house. It's the same riff with little minor variations because of the length. If you're recording for yourself, you...

Thanks. It does have that feel. I have a feel good summer tune too. I'm still working on it.
