    CD Baby?

Thank you. Yeah. All these places are rip offs. I think with a million views you get $1200 from youtube. Which isn't bad. It's just not great. I made a movie years ago when streaming was in it's infancy. It was up on amazon (way before Prime) and was #1 for a day and in the top ten for over a...

    CD Baby?

It was called CD Now. Been out of business for years. CD Baby, CD Now, both start with CD. My mind works slow. I think it's one of the reasons I didn't sign up with CD Baby immediately. I have a question about CD Baby and DistroKid. CD Baby I pay $100 flat fee and my album is in...

    CD Baby?

Thanks everyone. I HATE marketing. I like the artistic side (whether I'm good or not), and nothing else. I'm sure it's not the same place. But, back in the late 90s - early 00s, we'd drive from NJ to Karen's mom's in PA via the turnpike. On the way we'd pass CD Baby. But, that's when it was an...

    CD Baby?

All these place basically lie to get your money. I wanted to ask some questions from CD Baby before I paid, and they couldn't be bothered to answer. So, I never bothered to put up Pretty Old Bones. Even though they don't bother to respond. I've read they're the cheapest place, because it's a one...

Looking for feedback on a track I mixed

I am not the person to give mixing advice. Listen to anything I've mixed and you'll understand. What I will say and I don't know if it's the mix (probably not) or the way the tracks were recorded. This has no punch or life at all. It has that 70s Deep Purple type sound if they didn't turn on...

    Believe Lyric Video

You've posted that video before. I know I saw it.The only thing I'd have done differently (you might not be able to) is vary the hourglass to be in exact time, and at points have it run in reverse. The song itself is very good.

    New Problems w/Midi

Nevermind. POLYPHONIC was what needed to be done.

    New Problems w/Midi

A friend sent a drum track that sounds like a kit. Kick/Snare/Hats I put it in Melodyne and exported a Midi file. I put that file in Pro Tools and for some strange reason it made the track one note. So, if normally a Kick is G, Snare is A and Hats are B. They're all a C. I've never had that...

Roland MC-303 Groovebox Midi Notes Out

I love that movie. I have to be in the right mind to watch it. But, when I am it's hilarious.

Roland MC-303 Groovebox Midi Notes Out

That's what I thought also and it's not it. I was able to record a track of kick from the 303, transfer that track to melodyne, create a MIDI file and put that in Pro tools. It's a PAIN IN THE ASS. I have to do it for the snare and hats. If I add anything else I'll do it manually. I'm...

Roland MC-303 Groovebox Midi Notes Out

Thanks. I tried that last week on something else. It's a bulk dump of the entire system (so it seems). The MC-303 is completely UN user friendly. I want to patch pieces together, and it doesn't work the way you think of sequencers to work. It's a royal pain the ass.

Roland MC-303 Groovebox Midi Notes Out

I've had an MC-303 for years. I enjoy it. I thought I've sent out midi signals to record in Pro Tools or to my synth. But, it doesn't seem to be working. I can sync it up to be a slave or master, and that's perfect. I turn Sys 2 to ON and it still doesn't send out the midi notes to be...

    Analog/Digital to CD or Vinyl

I understood that visually. I'm talking about the machines he was using, his explanations. If you have a general knowledge of these things, it would make perfect sense. I know when you pump sound into any of those things the waves are reading the sounds. Why? What for? How they do it? I have no...

    Analog/Digital to CD or Vinyl

THANKS EVERYONE that explains it. BTW: Talisman, I never thought of that. I have music on 90% of the time. But, you did have to stay stationary with vinyl. I have a record player/cassette/CD recorder next to this computer. I've started listening to some vinyl again, and it is kind of annoying...

    Analog/Digital to CD or Vinyl

Vinyl is making a huge comeback. Why? I'm not really sure. But, music recorded analog does sound richer/fuller and purer on vinyl than they do on CD. But, CDs are portable and MP3s have music coming out of something that doesn't have a speaker. How does cell phone music work? As I was told...

    Old Radio To MP3 Player

THANK YOU! You've reinforced all I was told late last night. I looked up old radio clubs and found a few. The first thing I was told, I would probably burn my house down if I didn't recap the radio. I only understood the "burning the house down". I've noted phrases to search for someone in...

    Old Radio To MP3 Player

I KNOW NOTHING about electronics old or new. But, I do know from watching a youtube video, an old radio can be turned into an MP3 player. Watching the video I'm positive it's too advanced for me to do. But, I do have some questions that perhaps someone might know the answer to. Here's photos...

Separate Tracks for Midi Drum Set

The best I can do is kick/snare one track and then overdub the hats/toms/cymbals. I've almost always added crash last. By this time I know where I want the accent to be. As far as playing ahead. I don't even know where I play. Behind, ahead, straight forward... I just try my best. On the...

Separate Tracks for Midi Drum Set

For the STUPID in me, I figured out how to semi do it. I have an older Pro Tools, so I have to do it a little different than more up to date versions. I record live to a single midi track. In newer versions of Pro Tools you highlight the track, choose SPLIT NOTES. Be sure your notes are...
