yeah you could do this, you would just half to cut a bigger whole. It would make a difference (most likely) in that a speaker twice as big as your old one would probably have more wattage. I'm not an expert on how a speaker with more wattage changes the volume of the same amp but i know first...

Is there any difference in the grounding/safety of the 74' model and that time period then the ones now. The possibility of being shocked while using an amp is a possibility with any amp right? because it has to do with other appliances used as well.(for instance something ungrounded). Thanks

My friend is thinking about buying a 1974 fender super Reverb for a reallly good price but he has a problem with the grounding. It is a two prong outlet on the amp and the amp has a grounding switch. THe man at the store said that basically to get the grounding right you keep changin the switch...

if i have a guitar amp with about a 1 watt output is that still to much to run through a power amp.

Im using a Marshall JCM900 that has both 16 and 8 ohm output. I dont know which to use with my cab though. It is an avatar 4x12 with only two speakers in. the cab has two input jacks and one speaker gets each jack but then there is a wire connecting the jacks together. The speakers are 8 ohm so...

thanks for the help. I fixed it though. I opened up the case and made sure all the connections were in, i forgot to turn it off though and when i was on the 3.5 disk drive it turned on. THe connection is bad but at least it works and if something happens again i will know how to fix it. thanks...

I am looking for a book that is very indepth about tube amps, the theory, what goes into them, basic construction. Basically stuff i need to make them. Anyone know of anygood books. I dont want a book that is just a guide to build one certain amp though. THanks
