    Is this piano part playable?

noisewreck, i still have my doubts as to whether the series of two alternating notes can be played. Maybe the series of 4 alternating notes in the beginning can be played, since you have 4 fingers to spread the speed on, but when you are just alternating between what would likely be your thumb...

    Is this piano part playable?

This is a clip from a song i composed, and whenever i try to play it on my piano or weighted keyboard, it gets all muddled and messed up because i can't play it fast enough. I was wondering if this would be playable with some practice/speed training. If so, any advice on improving my playing...

    Using Guitar Amps for Keys:

i put keys into many guitar amps with no extra devices/precautions and it works fine. That doesnt mean it's safe though, maybe i just got lucky hehe.

    Bugging question about stereo instruments

some sound patches on keyboards that have stereo (left and right) outputs may not be in stereo. For example, it might just be your piano patch that is stereo enabled on your keyboard, while your organ patch for example might not come in stereo on the keyboard.

    Recording ethics

it might not be totally ethical... but who's it gonna hurt? (if they never find out) (i hope that is a smiley face)

    druming for non drummers?

i may be wrong, but i think it doesnt actually have anything to do with quantum physics/mechanics. It just forces your beats to have fixed discrete values.

    time signatures... tempos... beats... HELP!

hehe i have the same problem, pikingrin. Like in Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick (part 1)", in the beginning, it switches between 3/4 and 6/8 and i can never tap along to the beat consistantly there =(. Hopefully i can practice this stuff though, and like you, i'm not a drummer.

New Cover: Damien Rice - Delicate

pretty good, vocals were generally at a good volume level, and they were definitely not too soft. There were a few places where i thought the vocals could be turned down a tad, but it was not a big deal at all. Only thing that bothered me was how crappy the guitar sounds. I suppose it's a...

    Firewire adapters/cards?????????please help..........

a firewire adapter is just something that gives your computer firewire ports. A firewire soundcard, such as a firepod, is simply an audio interface that plugs into the firewire port in a computer. If you choose an audio interface that plugs into a firewire port, you will need firewire ports on...

    Completely New to Midi

HomeMadeHitShow: thank you for enlightening me with those wonderful programs you posted to replace midi sounds! I was able to use the SFZ program as a VST for an audio track cakewalk, and i routed the midi tracks in cakewalk to output to the SFZ VST on the audio track. While this is great, it...

    Firewire adapters/cards?????????please help..........

just as clarification, the firewire port that your firepod hooks up to in your computer is not a soundcard, rather, the firewire port is just a place to plug things in to your computer, like a USB port. The sound card, or interface, is actually your firepod.

Will this stand let me sit down and play, or must i stand?

ok thanks guys, i knew it would adjust, but in the picture, it seemed to be tall, like so that you would have to stand to play the keyboard, and i wasn't sure if it would adjust low enough to be able to play sitting down also.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=key/search/detail/base_pid/450386/ If i get this stand, will i be able to sit down in a chair and play my keyboard, or does the stand not go low enough? Will I have to stand up to play my keyboard on this stand? (i want to be able to do both, play standing...

Here is a rough one...cover of Queens "Tie Your Mother Down"

yes! please do "Brighton Rock"!!!! The version that's on their albums is only like 5 mins or so long, but I have some downloaded versions of this song where they performed it live, in an extended version, and I just love Brian May's guitar solos using the delay where he plays in harmony with...

    Favorite guitarist....feedback

my fav guitarist is Steve Howe of Yes. He has a very melodic style in many cases, and doesn't play fast just for the heck of it. He has interesting guitar solos that don't sound like the normal kind of guitar solo, like in Siberian Khatru (which also has a great opening and riff by him). I...

Here is a rough one...cover of Queens "Tie Your Mother Down"

unfortunately neither of these versions with vocals do anywhere near justice to the tune hehe sorry mates :( . Great instrumentation though, i liked the guit solos, especially the one at the end. I must ask how one goes about doing an echo, harmony-with-yourself solo like that? Do you just...
