I was also wondering who usually has better pre amps, eq, etc. Korg or yamaha. I would prefer to not have to buy that much external stuff. Also, the korg has 40 gigs compared to 20. How much are extra harddrives. Thanks, any imput appreciated.

This new korg thing looks pretty cool. What do you guys think of the specs. I'm either getting this or a Yamaha AW2618. What do you guys think would be better in the long run. I see the korg DOES NOT have motorized faders like the yamaha. Thanks

Hey guys. Im really recording more seriously now and I need to get a real drum kit. I can play pretty well (i think) but I dont own a kit. Can you all recommend a kit under 1000(cheaper the better) that has good(snare especially) tone and all that?

Can the tascam burn onto any type of CD-R or just the more expensive brands. It seems on the tascam website they say only specific kinds but I've heard other people say you can do any kind. Thanks

Hey guys, Im looking to buy a new cd recorder to record to from my Br-8 soon to be adat machines. The two in looking at right now are the HHB CDR830 BurnIT Cd recorder and TASCAM CD-RW700 Is one better than the other? 500 is the top limit of my price range.

So will going USB give me a really good recording sound quality assuming im using a new comp, good mics, and cubase SL? Like better than a Korg 1600?

If i get the emac with the specs as above, the tascam 122 thing and cubase SL- will that let me get as good quality recordings as with a korg 1600? Also- Since i will be going USB with the tascam into the computer, will I need to get a new sound card or does the tascam act as a sound card. Thanks

I really did look into comp recording for awhile. I was gonna buy a new emac with 60 gigs and 550 megs of ram and the tascam 122 usb thing and cubase SL. However, i have read things from people about how their comps lag and I dont know if i would like using a mouse to turn a fake nob.
