Sound Acoustic Tiles, not glueing to a wall.

Well is it the same stuff? I guess so. They have auralex at zzounds.com and samedaymusic. Shipping was like 20-30 bucks big deal

Sound Acoustic Tiles, not glueing to a wall.

so the foam at http://www.foambymail.com seems to be the same price as auralex or maybe slightly cheaper. My question is it the same quality? I am mainly doing this to improve my rooms sound. I live in an old victorian house so sound proofing is more like a joke. The walls are so thin each...

    Normalizing question

L2 is really nice for mastering a mix. Also the pluging Linmb is a great eq that has 5 bands. These are really nice plugins, the waves mastering bundle. In fact, I just use the mastering plugings only for my music work. I compress with the L2 each track, and in addition use it on the master bus...

Tell us again how pointless it is to mix with the monitors crancked up loud.

I have to agree, disagree with your statements. I find that mixing at low volume levels ie 40db is totally pointless because when you turn it up to 80 db it sounds horrible. But, it is rather easy to fix. So if you need to be quite you can mix quite the adjust everything quickly at the end. I...

    Normalizing question

I make dance music so I compress everything. In popular music compression is just part of the sound period. You have to compress everything. The thing is, I believe you are supposed to compress the track first, then add reverb. Last you should multiband compress the track to balance out the levels.

Sound Acoustic Tiles, not glueing to a wall.

I have a bedroom in my studio that I rent. I need some sound acoustics pretty bad, but I don't beleive gluing the pads is really an option for me. I could possibly see myself stapling them into the walls and then filling up the holes when I leave and painting them over. I guess another option...

    Are gold cables/connectors a farce?

I checked out the forum. If you are buying premium cables you might as well just buy them from mogami. Reason being that once you get done with the cables and connectors there is a 30% price difference. This is somewhat high I agree, but you have less worries. This price difference includes...

What's the deal with Mogami cables

This thread is killing me. I wanted to make my own cables and I talked with the dood's at the store and they kept saying, "after you get done with all the connectors the price is about the same." My asshole says not on this assumption! Cable is dirt cheap lol. Where the hell do you buy Mogami...

    Are gold cables/connectors a farce?

I checked out Full Compass and they really only had decent xlr connectors. I really need some TRS 1/4 inch connectors that don't suck. Also so are you saying an AD converter that is nice is a waste of money. A motu unit would be just fine?

    Are gold cables/connectors a farce?

Were can you get lots of cable anyways? I would love to make my own snake and other cables. When I ask about it in a pro audio store they always say it's a waste of time because of all the work and the price is almost the same.

    $4000-5000 budget for mixer

The yamaha o1v goes for like 500-600 used on ebay. You can really use that for automation in cubase?

Definition of Pro Tools on Urbandictionary.com

Ouch. You can still use the older software version. It is not the end of the world. I use cubase sx 2.0 right now, which is great. I find it stable and great for my purposes. Tech support is free via a long distance phone call, but is sometimes very busy. I like the pool integration of...

    Cleaning music gear

I bought my another pair of speakers used and something strange was used to clean the cone. It looks slightly brown from some residue. I tried cleaning it off with some water, then drying it with a towel and air drying. Is there anything safe to remove residue from a speaker cone?

    Are gold cables/connectors a farce?

I don't know about you, but I sware I notice a slight difference between a hosa cable and a monster/mogami cable. One other thing I notice is they normally last longer, so far. I even sware I notice a few extra milliseconds of timing accuracy with a monster midi cable vs a hosa midi cable. The...

    Cleaning music gear

I normally tend to vacume everything then after whipe it down with a rag with a little water and slight bit of soap sometimes to get of grime. What would you use to clean dust of a speaker cone? What would be safe?

    mixer or preamp needed

So you are serious? I find it useful when recording a track into the comp as I can use the compressor to push it right up to the red. It is fun to get the compressor to self oscillate at least.
