Yeah I think you're right about it only recording mono tracks...which is a bit of a pain really..I was planning on transferring the mix straight to the computer with it all paned out already. Do I need a different USB interface?
Hi, I've just got an EMU 0204 so I can mix my Tascam 488 mkII tracks to my computer...I was hoping to use audacity but I've had a few problems...namely trying to get the track to the EMU - for example I'm running a red/white RCA stereo cable from the Tascam's line out into the "L - Mic" input of...
On the other hand...this band (2 piece in this vid) turned up to a small venue for a gig that had sold out within 4 hours after tickets went on sale on the day of the gig and they didn't say a single word for the crowd So how do they do it? :O
Thanks Bisson, I'll try it on the kick and play about with it a bit more. Thanks for the PM, would be great if you could mix it - I should be getting a USB interface in the next few days so hopefully I'll be able to get a better transfer of the individual tracks as the bass wasn't really working...
So I'd literally just run 2 cables from the line out of the 488 into the usb interface which plugs into the computer? There's a firestudio on ebay £120, worth a bid?
Ok, so I have a Tascam 488 mk II but I need something to mix it down to...I've been doing it straight into my laptop which has produced some crap results (for example a squeaky sound on the bass) so I'm looking for a CD recorder (I think!) so I can mix to that, then rip the contents to the...
thanks for the tips, i've remixed it a bit...

there's also that annoying noise when the bass plays at the beginning...might be due to the fact that im going straight into my PCs...

This is my first track with my new equipment...I was wondering if anyone could suggest any tips on how to improve! The area I'm not 100% with is the...
I recently discovered this band from Liverpool, UK and found that their album was recorded on a Tascam 448 mk II and it sounds amazing! Highly recommended for How did they get such a good sound from the 488? I mean there's not even any tape hiss...it's so clear. Expensive stuff??
Thanks for the input :) I like the idea of the lead track being on the EP like a single release. I think I'll go with that seeing as it's just until the LP comes out and will be next to nothing to buy (if not free)!
I will be grateful to anyone who can tell me what else I need to start some basic demo recording!
I have...
1 x Tascam 488 Mk II
1 x SM57 (guitar amp, snare)
1 x AKG 1000S (drum overhead, vocals)
1 x AKG D112 (soon to be acquired - for bass drum)
1 x Sennheiser HD280
Should that do it?
Hi,
Basically...my band are about to start recording for an LP we've/I've written, which is 11 tracks. Some fans have been asking for an EP to be released this year so the question is...are the EP tracks exclusive to the EP? I've got some songs that aren't on the album (because it's themed) but...
