yea but as with some tube mic pre-s im sure some tube mics can be clean or in a detailed nuetral kinda way im thinking. i dont own one and probably never will.i just dont like when tubes are always stated to warm things and make things fatter. dont forget that the mic has to warmed up and tubes...

i had both for a while. each is a little different. both will get you good results. i wouldnt get the at 4050 based on vesatility. how many actually use there figure 8 pattern especially on vocals or acoustics but your needs may vary.
