first of all i like to THANK YOU! for taking care of the bad guys who are trying to kill us. not that i will be of much help but i havent herd much about the blue- cardinal mics. i read blue mics went through some changes with production. maybe thats the reason?
when i called presonus on this i was told the pres are the same as well as the converters. just more features. since uits only 200$ more i would have to believe it.
if you need 8 great drum mic pres its gonna cost you. best off moving mics around or different techniques or replacement progarms. ive found the fire pods pres are good enough for general use . you have 2 line ins so maybe grab a high end pre to see if thats gonna give you the sound you want on...
although i respect what mike does in dream theater he has not taken what neil does any better. if anything i thinks more mechanical with his 5/4 and stuff. oh boy!
the dm5 i seem to remember having some issues. you need to lower the gain. also try raising the mask time and scan. if your using an acoustic kit you need to make them dead as possible. try using tape or bass drum beater pads on the under sides of the toms and snare too. thick dead drum heads...
metal only died in the main stream media. ive gone to see many of those 80-s bands since the mid 90-s and many still play the big arenas like iron maiden. ive seen judas priest pack out places even without rob halford. the nu-metal bands like disturbed and 3 days grace are still doing metal in a...
i got some great buys at musicians advocate.i dont know how they can sell for so low and i like being able to throw a best offer. the only thing is they never answered my emails when checking on the items shipping. one mic showed up over a week later when i paid for the 3 to 5 day service but...
i just checked the 7 kiwi cables i own. every single one had loose or backed out screws. this is not from use as some of them are just back ups sitting in a bag. poor quality ! i did find several cable makers on ebay using canare and mogami cables and nuetrik connectors for good prices. im too...
youll probably get alot of replies from old farts around here that play hollow bill non gain type music. if your into the fender blues junior sound i would pass. if your doing modern rock or nu metal it will give you a beefy bottom. it does have a use but for recording maybe sparingly would be a...
my kiwi does the same thing. at first i thought the prongs were bent or something. it seems the inside gets loose. i guess its poor quality control. they look expensive though.
thats why i would never buy into the the real tube pre for cheap. most eh stuff looks pretty crappy to me. i would rather save. i remeber that big muff though. you would step on it and that thin cheesey metal would buckle not to mention the way it would eat batteries. i mean they look so kool...
just go through the digital ins on that unit and that will bypass. if you have to go through the analog in i never found it to make much difference noise wise and actually prefer to turn the gain up a hair instead of flat off. i never had a noise problem with the mic pre built in on that 1880vs...
4040 sounds clean and bigger and captures a kit better to me better than the pencil mics like an 81. your hi hats will sound meatier with a large d mic.
