You don't need to run Mixcontrol before starting up your recording program (but somehow I have a wierd habit doing that :D).
The point of the Mixcontrol is that you can route the inputs and outputs of Saffire and create different headphone mixes. For example you can create Mix1(see the tabs on...
Sounds like you are monitoring yourself thru Ableton. You shouldn't have problems with direct monitoring with Fast track - just adjust the mix button on the front(note: this applies when you have the first generation Fast track. Second generation? Possibly adjustable via some kind of user...
Thanks for the comments!
Yea, I agree with the song being too long (I actually love that middle break) and I have already suggested the band that it should be shorter, especially for radio.
...it's actually the name of the song. :)
We are planning to do radio cut of the song because of the long start and ending.
Recorded with:
Audix D6 - kick
Audix I5 - snare top
Senn e604 - snare bottom
2x CAD E100 - toms
Senn 421 - floor tom
2x AKG 414-XLS - oh
2x Violet The Finger - one on...
I somehow enjoy these kinds of threads where people show off their equipment so I don't feel guilty posting here again after over two years. :D My rack/racks:
Setup one:

Focusrite Octopre mk2
Millenium HP4

The effect is pretty small actually - it just tries to absorb the vibrations coming from stand (truck driving by, constuction site nearby - all sorts of low frequency rumble). In conclusion wouldn't hurt having one, you'll never know when the problems going to kick in.
Kinda' offtopic but where do you even use such low quality files? For phone answerers?
Bobby has point, you will need a decent usb interface for recording (that Soundblaster will not be any better than what is in the computer at the moment). On a second thought maybe even usb mic will work.
From my experience the AT 4050 is a picky mic (talking about vocals) so if I were considering between 414 and 4050 I would choose 414.
I have used C1000s for some years. Some guys like it, some guys hate it. I think it sounds okay for live sound use, but I haven't found use for it in studio...
Easyest solution would be exporting the tracks from Cubase and loading them into Reason.
However some things I could think of:
Are the projects at same bit and sample rate?
Are both programs using same audio interface driver?
Is Reason 5/Cubase 5 confirmed to work under Win 8?
Does this problem...
So did you check out Groove agent? From what I understand it makes just what you are looking for. You can load in your own samples and then save the kit to use it again.
I don't know specifically about LE4, but atleast latest full editions should have plugin called Groove agent one. You can put together a drumkit with different velocity layers (I see you have multiple channels of kick, snare etc.).
Do you have any effects put on sounds (I mean in Cubase?)
Do you have only audio tracks or you are using virtual instruments?
Both effects and virtual instruments can be resource hogs.
I don't think that mixer (Alesis multimix 4, right?) allows you to do that. It's just plain simple "what goes in comes out" style :D
Dedicated audio interface like Tascam us144 mk2 will allow you to adjust monitoring settings.
Increase buffer size maybe on Saffire mixcontrol?
Does Sonar have have performance meter or something similar that could show how heavy load is on computer?
