Whats the difference between mono vst's and stereo vst's

Props for digging out 4 year old thread. Anyway since it's already been dug up - what IS the difference between mono & stereo plugin? :P For example I have CLA compressors bundle and sometimes I accidentally put stereo compressor on mono channel. I can hear and see that the left side is...

Help me for mixing these vocal better, thank you!

Hi Koolj! I only had time to listen to the first one and it sounds like you are boosting the high frequencys too much. BTW Someone should move this to MP3 clinic.

Most expensive mic you've ever used

I have Violet-design The Globe Standard, retails about 1300€. I won't post post samples, because I'm quite unhappy the way my room sounds right now (more bass trapping on the way! yay). :P What I don't like about it is that it doesn't have low cut and pad switch - it's output is hot as hell. Now...

    Recording Upright-Piano

Back off those mics, you could be trying to mic the piano too close. Just use your ears to find a great sounding spot to put your microphone and I'm pretty sure that place won't be close to strings.

I'm not familiar with Magix, but have you tried disabling your built in sound card (just in case) and using ASIO4All?

How do I reduce the car's noise?

Depending on source material you MIGHT get it a bit better with some noise reduction and expander/gate. You could post us a clip though so we can hear what can be done.

    What else do I need?

Would the computer keyboard and mouse be too low if mounted under the table? Nice work on stands btw. Did you fill up the pipes with sand?

    Tascam FW-1884, Win7 64bit & Cubase 7 problems.

It could be the fw card.. what card are you using right now? I have done some research across the web before buying my own fw card and this one seemd to be the most problem-free: DP FireWire 2-Port PCIe - PCIe - FireWire 400 - FireWire - IT PRODUCTS Yes, it is expensive. :P Check out also this...

Roland Octa-Capture with Reaper Compatibility Problems

Is there a specific problem you are having? Usually it's just "install the drivers, plug the interface in, choose the right audio driver in Reaper, set inputs and outputs if needed and you are good to go"

Has my microphone gone bad? Maybe some other piece of equipment?

It would help with direct sound coming to the mic, however reflections will still reach the mic. So yes, it could help a bit, but won't eliminate the problem.

Recording drums- need an additional input to my M-Audio ProjectMix. Will idea work?

All inputs are mono, feeding stereo overheads to one mono channel would not end too well. Record with one overhead or without the bottom mic on snare. Maybe you could rent a pre?

Mic for Recording Guitar and the Cajon

Hi Marcell Do you have to record all instruments at once? (What interface are you using and do you have enough inputs to record more than 2 mic's at the same time?) Now this part confuses me: "I've also heard a coulpe of producions where the guitars were recorded by a small condenser dynamic...

Has my microphone gone bad? Maybe some other piece of equipment?

If you could move your computer under the table, it would help a bit. Maybe you can also move away from computer with the mic and find a quietest place on the room. Some guys build a isolation boxes for their computers, but it has to be well ventilated to keep computer from overheating.

How to Hear Voice While Singing on Garageband

What equipment are you using to record? Usually every audio interface would let you monitor yourself. There could be monitor button on Garageband (I have used that only once so I'm not completely sure), but I bet it would have such big latency that the monitoring is not going to help you. You...
