    another jazz question

Some of you may remember me posting a question about jazz chord progressions a month or so back. The reason for this was because I was starting a jazz combo/improv course at the community college here in town. Well, I'm 2 weeks into it, and the instructor set me up with a gig. It was today, and...

Can a reverb circuit be a loop?

I bet that'll be your favorite amp before it's over....    I can't believe how cheap these have gotten.... You can get the 30 watt for $250 at MF!!!..... and IMO they blow away any of the Hot Rods or Juniors that Fender is selling by the truckload..... but people won't buy...

2 mono compressors or a 1 stereo compressor?

Good points Farview. :) Things I wouldn't think of until I went and spent a fortune on outboard compressors, and learned the old fashioned way that I had wasted mo muney.... Peace! ~Shawn

2 mono compressors or a 1 stereo compressor?

Please tell us more, if you would. I don't compress on the way in, but it's because all my sweet compressors are software. Please tell tell why we should wait, beyond the obvious "once it's printed you can't change it" thing.

Can a reverb circuit be a loop?

I have the same amp but with 30 watts, and I actually emailed Crate and asked the same questions you are asking.... the tech said do not disconnect or patch in a different box, say digital delay, because of the impedance issue. Just turn the thing to zero..... maybe have a tech wire in a proper...

    Hey Good Lookin'

Mr.Chef, I simply love your stuff!! I'm not even going to go into why I love it. I just do!!! Your voice, by the way, sounds a lot like Marty Stuart, (more crow for the mrs)a quite famous country music artist, who, by the way, is a steward of many of the most spectacular articles of clothing and...

    my sellout pop song :)

Nice song, nice recording, as usual out of you. Yay!! You know what I'm gonna say first.... the vocals aren't popping the way I'd like. I would have to play this song many times to figure out what you are saying. I may just be old school, but that's the way I would like to hear it...

    Carvin Amps

I don't know what style of music you play Zaphod B, but since you are considering the EVH, you might want to try the Peavey JSX. That's a really sweet sounding amp.... and I think is a lot cheaper than the EVH, and comparable to the egnater..... Think is the key word there.... Peace! ~Shawn

Fastest guitarist in the world - official

I finally watched it too, and yep.... I noticed that background stuff and wondered why it hadn't become a topic of conversation.... I don't know quite what to think of it, honestly. I would love to see him do it in person and up close, because the video just doesn't capture it very well...

    line6 toneport/gearbox question

Here are your answers, and I'll try and explain.... Yes, the gearbox will open in Sonar if you buy the plugin. Yes, you have to have the Tone Port DI plugged into your USB, because it acts as a dongle. Having said that, the other thing for you to know is that you may certainly use your existing...

I've been using my DDX3216 for about 2 years now.... I love it! I haven't had any problems with it yet.... except a fluttering light on the display recently. I hate to think of the day ot will die.... it sounds so good and does so much that I won't be able to replace it with twice the money...

    stir stir

I love your stuff, every time I hear your work, I just apprecuate it. Lets see... I love that you turned up the vocal so I can hear what you are saying. That's a good thing. Don't turn it down just because I said it was loud enough.... ;) The harmonies in the latter part of the song are...

OK guys.... here we go again: which LDC?

I hear what you're saying, and yes, I do have a GC about 30 miles from home.... I do have some news to report. I went out in the studio today, and tried a few things with my at4033. First, I turned the low cut off. That in and of itself made a pretty drastic difference in the sound of my vocal...

    sounding good vs the truth

For a long time, Yamaha NS10's were a studio staple, and still are in a bunch of studios, even though they are discontinued. The reason the NS10 was so popular isn't because they were the most accurate, nor were they the most pleasent sounding monitors, but because when an experienced engineer...

OK guys.... here we go again: which LDC?

That's certainly very interesting, thanks for putting that together! Do you won an M9? I'd be ever so interested in what a vocal track sounds like through it. Peace! ~Shawn

Fastest guitarist in the world - official

I don't know if he's playing 16th or 32nd notes At 320bpm a 32nd note comes every 46.875ms, at a rate of 21.3 per second. 16th notes, on the other hand, would come every 93.75ms at 320bpm, at a rate of 10.7 per second. Peace! ~Shawn
