    Glyn Johns Drums

This is very similar to what I'm doing. I just have to try and restrain myself, because I tend to push everything to the max. Then again, if we REALLY wanted a "natural" sound, we would just put a stereo pair up and call it a day, now wouldn't we? ac, where's my tracks? ;) Peace! ~Shawn

Acoustic Guitar Vocal Song - Positively Ignored

it's a cool tune... a little cliche' for the times, but that's OK. The guitars are out of balance; they make my head spin. Not only is one louder than the other, they aren't both doing the same thing, and in this sparse of a tune, they really really need to be skin tight, or it feels like the...

Very cool experiment! Nicely done, too. The Beatles wrote some GREAT songs..... this one wouldn't make my top ten. Peace! ~Shawn

I definitely prefer real drums!! I'm going out to the studio in a few mins to make your tracks. I think this technique will work fantasically on the geetar song! Peace! ~Shawn

    Glyn Johns Drums

That's pretty sweet! The only thing that would worry me about this setup is the bleed in the kick mic; if you wanted to eq the to get more attack, you might end up boosting cymbals and God knows what. I'm eager to test it out though :) Nice playing and a great sound. Peace! ~Shawn

    Cubase. drops,clicks and pauses

Why are you running latency so low? Are you trying to monitor through cubase? Aren't the FirePods capable of direct monitoring?

I need new tubes... make some recommendations!

I have a Kalamazoo Model One single ended amp with a single EL84 output tube, and I did the same thing. It worked wonders!

Which one sounds better the digital or analog?

In my opinion, the drum tracks could use some more compression and EQing. The metal excerpts seemed "in your face" enough. So, tell us what we're listening to, if you would be so kind! ~Shawn

I need new tubes... make some recommendations!

Look Here Look Here Look Here Look Here!!!!!!!! Well, for some reason I can't edit my previous post about 12AU7s and 12AT7s. If someone in the future reads this shaky advice, PLEASE read this entire thread before proceeding, paying careful attention to this warning:

I need new tubes... make some recommendations!

Which explains why they have more headroom, I suppose. I will edit my post. Thanks for the heads-up. Sorry to the original poster for making a recommendation that had been made to me and worked fine for me, but potentially could damage an amp. :o Peace! ~Shawn

Dude... You've got a great voice....stop it already :p Are those mics you have omnis? I don't see why they are picking up so much junk. ~Shawn

    something wrong...

I think you are on the right path, for sure! Great start. I'm thinking of an experiment. Would you consider emailing me a midi file of the drums? I've got a DM5 at the house, and I could try a little something with a piece of equipment that you have there to work with, and then you duplicate it...
