Yeah, it's kind of hard to understand what somebody means by something they post if they don't explain, right? By posting the Aurora video, I meant this: There's no way a manufactured voice could come anywhere near to something as good and powerful and beautiful and moving as this Aurora track...

Much as I appreciate the appropriateness of the impersonality of your response in the context of a discussion about machine music, I still want to ask: what's your point? That the software can do some of the donkey work for you?

No actual performance required, and the result is the increasingly mechanized sound of software doing what performers do. I admire the cleverness of it, but it doesn't come close to having the effect on me that music performed in real time has. Also, for me, using Synthesizer V would mean a ton...

Yeah, this is the main thing. The vocal's doing low notes, so how to get it heard? If it was me, I'd dry it out and bring it up so it sits right out front, but I know that's not always an acceptable mix choice with some. I like the back and forthing between vocal and guitar. Good tune.

The best thing about it was a link at the end to a fascinating Jordan Peterson Youtube video in which he talks at some length about intelligence. Absolutely fascinating.

Like the song. Like the vocal sound a lot. But I think the relentless busyness of the fingerpicking is exactly wrong for such a reflective song.

You know what? I think you need to familiarize yourself with some of the basics instead of trying to mix from online suggestions. Here's a standard reference work for mixing by Mike Senior: 'Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio'. It costs about 50 bucks and it'll take you hours to go through it...
