i had made some recordings at a friends house at 48khz. then we dithered down to 44khz to burn to a CD and it sounded awful. then we recorded it at 44khz, w/o any conversions. it actually sounded better! it all really depends on the equipment you have. ive got an aardvark direct pro 24/96. i...

just bought aardvark direct pro- cant get effect to work-help!

Emeric, Thank you for your reply! I think I understand what you are saying. Being used to a 4-track I always panned the BASS track to the CENTER and it came out on both speakers. So I always assumed it was stereo, even though electric guitars are mono. That should have been obvious to me...

Hello Everyone, I've just installed my new Direct Pro 24/96 soundcard, driver, and software. It seems as though MOST features are working correctly. The Compression buttons in the direct pro manager do not seem to do anything. The Reverb and Eq do not seem to work either. I...

    help!!!

since no one else has replied...if you don't have a lot of money and youre just looking for a microphone for rehearsals...i would say get a dynamic mic like the shure sm58(100.00)...or the sm48s-lc(80.00)...then get a small PA system. Don't use one of your friends amps for your vocals. It will...

    4 inputs/4 mics need comments!

jhe, thank you. The pro 25 seems like a good investment. The atm25 is too much money for such a small difference. The frequency range is a little wider. I think I'm gonna go with the pro 25. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. -Tom

    Original song needing critiqued...

This song is pretty cool. It kind of reminds me of Urge Overkill - Sister Havana...kind of...in my opinion. The mix is good...about as good as my mixes. It's tough. I'm not gonna comment on that. I just have a few questions: What kind of monitors are you using? How many tracks did you use...

soundcard to active monitors w/o mixer?

b/c I've been reading that it gets way too loud and it distorts. I've always thought that when I finally got the ps6 monitors I could plug them right in. Technically you can...but it seems like it's a good idea not to use the software to lower the volume. Supposedly that degrades the bit...
