24 bit vs. 16 bit recording

I did. read the first paragraph about "sampling theory" and assumed it was a foreign language. on my recording device: 24 bits=16 tracks 16 bits=32 tracks 16 bits is better EDIT:upon further inspection, I believe it IS a language foreign to me. I suspect it may be some derivitive of binary

Good Free Website To Learn Lead Guitar?

why not just learn a major and minor scale. pretty much everything else is the feel. some folks got it, some don't. I don't

    distortion pedal wanted

I've had amps with FX loops before, got a Peavey something or other that has one, and never really fooled around with them. may be something worth trying

Blackstar HT-5 combo or Marshall Class 5-01?

oh, and sell those Boss pedals. you may not know it yet, but they suck. srsly. I have every used Boss stompbox in existance(as of 2008), and...well...let's just say there are sexier fish in the sea

Blackstar HT-5 combo or Marshall Class 5-01?

I hate Marshall, but if those are my options, that would be my choice. especially given the style of music you're playing...tho, I would advise KEEPING the cab. you never know when it will come in handy. if you're in the US, pm me about that Vox:D I need a Vox in my life

    new to this group

just a heads up...post your mixes in the MP3 Clinic ...and my ears are far from golden, but the vibe was kinda cool. was diggin the "not quite RnB/muzak" groove you had in 'mix 2'. ...P.P.S. the more involved you are here, the more likely you are to find the answers you need. everyone is...

    distortion pedal wanted

I'm not sure this is even possible with my current rig? I'd be willing to try it tho. I'm still learning this new amp, and all I've learned is that I don't know anything about ohms, and the MT-2 sounds a lot better in front of a solid state amp

Down sized to 5w tube for gigs.

are you a sound guy, stevieb? not tryin to be a d-bag, but you got pretty defensive. it's not our fault it's in the "guitarist handbook" to hate the sound guy.:D but seriously, IME, the guy running sound NEVER tells me to turn UP. he'd rather be able to control my sound from the board rather...

Down sized to 5w tube for gigs.

yup, and that's another reason I use the cab. I can push the amp right to the edge of break-up, have plenty of volume, and not get wrecked by shitty sound guys and their busted P.A.s

    distortion pedal wanted

good find. I like the way the demo was done. all 4 pedals were very similar, but I liked 2 the most there's no FX send on the ValveJunior, but I've always just run pedals straight into the front of whatever amp I happen to be using and always sounded fine

...still got a Metal Zone for sale, too. pulls double-duty as a good wheel chock while changing a flat tire :D

    distortion pedal wanted

OCD? also, never heard of it. can I just type in OCD pedal, or something along those lines, in the youtubes and find it? checked out the Sparkle Drive and the Juicebox on YT, and neither of those are really what I'm looking for. something with a little more gain than that. I found something...

I love my ValveJunior! you made a wise investment, and it's got plenty of juice to push a cab, if you happen to play a show where the P.A. is strictly for vocals. in my practice space, I HAVE to use a cab with the VJ. my drummer, bassist, guitarist, etc. are all way louder than the VJ, unless I...

    ohms confusion

that's a scary thought. I'm going to assume that, since the speakers in my cab are stock from the factory, they would all take the same load ...but then there's a stereo input(@16 ohms, I think) which makes me wonder also, this is a hella useful thread. I'm really considering trying to launch...
