I'm gonna jack this thread for a sec. What if one wanted to record a cover, but just give the recording away? I hope not. Seal has plenty of money. ...you can have your thread back now

    Something New

Sorry Rami:D I spend a lot of time on your site, but never really pay attention to song titles.

    Please review my new track!

Cool tune. I'm not qualified to comment on the production value, but I'll say everything sounds pretty good to me except the snare. Don't take this as a dig, but it sounds like it could stand to be tuned better. Too rattley(I made that word up, I think) for my tastes. Makes it sound like a...

    Something New

I've listened to this like 10 times now, and it still cracks me up. Awesome! I think the only thing I've listened to more on here is one of Rami's tunes(I forget the name). You guys should collab. on something

    Rickenbacker 325

I've heard it mentioned more than a few times now. Are Ricks not a quality guitar? Never played one myself, but damn they look cool...except that sawed-off one up top

What's your definition of a Poser?

I don't care for the Ramones, but being able to chat it up about production must've been AWESOME!

What's your definition of a Poser?

to quote Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray fame; "...for a million bucks, I'll play anything you want..." ...or something like that. either way, I'm a poseur/poser

    Live: Cabs but no heads?

Good to know. Hope I haven't screwed anything up yet

    Live: Cabs but no heads?

To be clear, sometimes it's necessary to have my head close by, while the cab is on the other side of the room/stage, in which case I use any random 20' cable that happens to be lying around. Usually an instrument cable. If an instrument cable is different from a speaker cable, I was unaware...

Ceiling Trap Concept - What do you think?

    Sooooo..... ...howzabout those ceiling traps?

    Live: Cabs but no heads?

Really?! I bet that's where the amp hum is coming from during practice. It's not there when I play solo(ie when there aren't lots of cables on the floor)

    Live: Cabs but no heads?

Outside of an arena setting, I've wondered why anyone would EVER need a full stack.

    Live sound question 3!!!and 4!!!!

Sell your set up and buy something nice. In my practice space, we use a 1000 watt(I think) PA into two 400 watt speakers and still have trouble hearing the vocals. You get what you pay for in this biz

Down sized to 5w tube for gigs.

image doesn't mean anything. the look on peoples faces when they comment on 'that awesome tone' and I point to my ValveJr and SG. plus, I'm off stage in the amount of time it takes to wrap up a couple cables and close the guitar case. 5 minutes, tops. and no hernia

    Live: Cabs but no heads?

I could be wrong on this, but I think any (properly shielded)speaker cable under roughly 20' has little to zero noticable effect on audio quality. I never noticed this except maybe with insanely big budget rock bands, where they can afford to have a tech or 2 back stage setting levels and gains...

Drum Recording...I Must Be Doing Something Wrong!

that would be a safe bet. the clif notes; tune your drums, know your parts, experiment with mic placement. if I had to guess, EVERYTHING you might read about recording drums would start and finish with this... ...but isn't that true of anything you want to record?
