i dont have the money for an nt 2,,,,but the nt 1 will still be a big difference from the radio shack mic i got now. ive recorded with my md8 already. if thats using the "pre amp" then i did it. if theres some special thing i gotta do to use it,, someone let me know,, but i think just recording...

im going to get the nt 1. Im wondering if a pre amp would be a good idea or not. im not sure whether or not it will be a big sound improvement .and if so,, would it be a good idea to get a tube preamp? ive seen them for cheap on ebay. or should i just forget about a preamp alltogether?

i have my eq running directly into my md8. and it does this even when i dont have anything running into my eq.

i got an alesis 230 and when i run it,,, and i adjust the slider eq settings,, i get his noise . even when theres nothin pluged into the eq. when i slide them up or down the his gets louder. that goes for all 30 eq slider switches. just a hair up from center position or a hair down from center...

ive got an md8 and i was wondering if it would be better to my computer . ive got a soundblaster live and i would need to get a good track recorder program . what program would be good? without being too complicated. that might have a layout that looks like a track recorder.

should i run the mic into the eq first then to my md8? is this smart ? or is the eq just good for playback?

i currently have a radio shack mic , an md8 track recorder, and an alesis 30 band/channel eq. ,,,im ordering an nt1 mic and have a zoom sampler with built in effects. i think it would benefit me to get a better effects procesor though. sometimes i run the mic into the sampler just for the effects.

what would the sound difference actally be ? from a radio shack mic to a nicer mic? like the nt 1. what would the sound be like? more mids? or what?

and what would give my vocals reall character? and good clean sound ? whats a compressor limiter?

i record rap music and im wondering which procesor would be good for vocals. for delay and such. i want delay that can go on for as long as i want it to. almost in a continuous loop if i want.
