    SM57 x SM58

i used these two mics for vocals only on stage and I wouldn't agree with that statement...but it could be that others are getting better "studio" vocal sound with 57 than with 58 just 0.02:)

Don, yeah I thought if you hadn't it would be coz of the buzzing and stuff. You're right, the good dimmers are very expensive. I guess you can allways switch some on and off to get the right atmosphere. Your place is indeed looking good, please keep us updated as you go.:) good luck

Hi Don, your studio is really nice. The lights, can you dimm 'em, or are they just standard lights. And if you have dimmers with them, what sort did you use? thanks

Why do they still make vinyl records?

I was at my friends place who I didn't know had a great stereo system, turn-tables and everything..he pulled out some records from mid-80s of some of my fave music...THESE RECORDS ROCKED man...I swear, all of them sounded better than CDs, except for a few "record clicks" which are normal....OK...

Matt Argyle - Poison Wings (first mix)

I agree with quen and jake owa about the snare, but i dont think it's really too loud but "takes over" because the vocals are softer as quenn said...maybe if you just push the vocals up and leave the snare volume as it is (with some eq "shaving" as jake sugested) it will balance out a bit...

    Studio plan, Opinions needed

angle the wall G inwards like you angled the E wall...then you'll lose a bit of space in that G corner. anyway after you angle it, you could put a bass trap in that corner as well as in the E corner....hope you know what i mean, and it helps.. good luck P.S. I imported your drawing into "smart...

I ain't no expert, butI think that E wall change is no good as it makes your control room assymetrical (spell?)....it should be symetrical cheers

    Mixing with Studio 32

mutt...when you said "atch the 828 outs into line ins"...that's when I thought that line ins shouldn't be used for tape returns....I didn't mean that it can't work, but usually you would patch your recorders outs into tape ins on the mixer..... NP...I'll stay out of it...sorry for any confusion...

    Mixing with Studio 32

In my opinion this is wrong...The tape ins are exactly that = tape ins....so that's where you plug your outputs from your tape once you recorded your tracks onto the tape (in your case MOTU 828)...you should still be able to have full control of your signals that go through tape ins, but it's...

Need Help! Using Triton LE with Midi connection to PC and CoolEdit Pro 2.0

CEP has got nothing to do with midi, and midi has got nothing to do with CEP.....so CEP is not gonna recognize your triton MIDI signals....the only way to "drop your beats" into CEP is to use line out on your triton into line in on your soundcard and record the beats into CEP as an audio (.wav) file
