Your best bet is to wait until Windows 7 is officially supported by Digidesign. Anything else you hear will be purely anecdotal evidence. Alternatively set up a dual boot so you can still use Windows XP, and set it up the same as before.

I don't understand how the two devices can be locked together. For the SPDIF inputs to be available on the fast track ultra 8r, external clocking needs to be selected. The M300 manual doesn't mention any way to set the M300 as clock master. :confused: Good work though Benny.

I just downloaded the manual for the TC M300 (http://www.tcelectronic.com/media/M_300_US_rev3.2.pdf) and it doesn't look like you can set it to be master. Therefore the two pieces of hardware will not be able to connect digitally. Can you connect them using the analogue connections?

What interface have you got? Have you gone to the I/O page and set up an input path for the spdif? Have you then selected the corresponding path in the channel strip you want to record to?

Is it possible you have some dodgy routing set up? Does it do it on all sessions? What is the signal path prior to the interface?

Can you show me a screenshot of a channel strip you're having this problem on, and also of your i/o setup? That would help no end. Unless you've got an i/o problem, or a routing problem, I can't see what would cause this.
