This isn't official and isn't supported. AFAIK Mackie is the only such manufacturer to do this, and it's only with the one interface.
They have reverse engineered the drivers and interfaces, and it's debatable whether or not it is legal.
Firstly your question would have been answered very quickly if you'd read the FAQ sticky in this forum. Alternatively searching anywhere using google.
Secondly no, your sapphire will not work with Pro Tools. Only Digidesign or M-Audio interfaces will work with the relevant version of Pro Tools.
The answer to your final question is perhaps both...
I've not experienced problems like this, but then I've not used your mics...
Are you using the original USB cable which came with the Mbox? Hard to know because you bought it second hand... Try changing the USB cable; most problems of this...
As has been said you just need to read the book really and follow the examples it gives you. Read the book through in front of a rig, that way you can try out everything for yourself.
It's pretty much impossible to fail the Pro Tools 101 - you have to either not care, or have not read the book...
To get more than 18 outputs from Pro Tools you need Pro Tools HD.
In future I'd recommend posting a new thread, rather than writing a specific question in someone else's thread, especially if it is 3 years old! :)
I agree.
I once found it beneficial to just sit behind someone more experienced than me to see how they went about things - I found it very useful however opening up someone else's session often doesn't teach much. You may learn a bit.
As for the plugins thing, I could just use all of the...
Zip up the folder containing the session, then upload to a site like yousendit or rapidshare or similar.
I'll mix in Pro Tools but I can't see how it is going to be a learning experience for you...
Post up a link bud, I'm sure a few people will have a go, myself included, though it may take me about a week to get anything meaningful done.
Do you want it mixed specifically in Pro Tools? If not then you could post it up in the MP3 Clinic section, or elsewhere on the site to generate more...
+1
It's like a system which sorts the wheat from the chaff ;)
Now, if you'll excuse me, as my "feelings have been hurt" I must now go and use the telephone. Don't expect to hear from me again.
NEED ADVICE please help me out
Can anyone tell me how to use a telephone wire to tie a noose? I'd...
Grow up.
The advice I gave was informative and educational.
Your post too was educational. I've learned that you are in fact a cock.
Don't post on the board asking for help again, you'll not get a response.
Just a heads up - although the microphones and speakers are low-fi, the majority of the "telephone" sound is the limited bandwidth.
The sampling rate of the telephone system is 8 KHz, meaning that the signal is band limited to 4 KHz. So... I would recommend just recording with any old...
I'm fortunate in that I had a glass door between my two rooms (just happened that the house was that way). So it meant I still had eye contact as well as a relatively good level of separation.
Now my "control room" is upstairs, and I have a multicore going through walls/ceilings to get there :D...
No problem, mate.
It's actually a really useful feature, especially when you're editing. You can quickly and easily switch between the two modes by hitting "N" while you're in the edit window (providing you have keyboard focus enabled).
Good luck with your project and hopefully I can help...
You need to enable "Insertion follows playback" if you wish to have the transport behave like this.
This means that when you press stop (say at 2'06"), then press play again, it will play back from 2'06".
How to enable "insertion follows playback" varies depending on the version of Pro Tools...
OK if you haven't done so already you will need to download the Pro Tools 8.x.x update pre-release which brings support for Snow Leopard.
The only other thought I have is, are you using the original firewire cable?
