    Pro tools 9!!!!!!

    I'd stick with the 002, it's a great control surface. If you really wanna jazz it up then add some external converters like an Octopre or something.

    Pro tools 9!!!!!!

    Nah, the whole point is that you can use it with ANY core audio or ASIO interface!

    Pro tools 9!!!!!!

    Ah don't have that attitude towards it in the first place; unless you bought it in the last few weeks? If you've had your use out of it, and made some decent tracks with it, who cares if it's cost you money? In the long run it still will have been cheaper than getting someone else to record it ;)

    Pro tools 9!!!!!!

    Mbox 2, no. But the Mbox 3 is a much better prospect. Even when they package PT with the Mbox 3, it will be cheaper than buying a similar interface and then buying PT9... They aren't going to spend all their time testing every other manufacturer's boxes are they? It's compliant with ASIO and...

    Pro tools 9!!!!!!

    You don't have to buy Pro Tools 9 with a new interface... Unless you're saying that the original Mbox won't work with PT9? In which case, that's correct.

    Why do you say that? The new Mboxes are great interfaces...

    When I use my ozone 4 plugin it slows down my vocals why?

    That's another alternative; though you have to pay extra and I'm stingy! The other thing you could use is time adjuster and delay every other track, but it's less than ideal Or... you could get Pro Tools 9 now that it has ADC!

    When I use my ozone 4 plugin it slows down my vocals why?

    Does it slow down, or does it just go out of time? Ozone is not intended as a mixing plugin and as such it brings about delays of around 1024 samples, sometimes more. If you really want to use Ozone whilst mixing I would recommend that you do the following: Duplicate the vocal track, and make...

    PT8 came out Oct 08, so to go from 8.0.x to 9 is odd, but it is probably in response to the illegal versions which had been hacked to use core audio...

    Pro tools 9!!!!!!

    As I understand it, the plan is to cease distributing Mboxes with Pro Tools software. If you buy it and it comes with LE you can crossgrade. However if you buy it when it doesn't come with LE, then you'll have to pay full whack to upgrade. At that point, surely they need to drop the price of...

    Have a look when Pro Tools 8 was announced. N.B. It was not at NAMM ;)

    I think you mean the Liquid Saffire 56. Good recommendation though, as are the two in the post above.

    Always peaking

    Knowing how Pro Tools' clip light is set up is key to understanding how a recorded wav (with no inserts in the signal chain) can appear to clip. I believe that as few as three consecutive full scale samples will cause the light to come on, so if your previously bounced wavs are heavily...

    Pro Tools Questions/Advises

    This is not quite correct. Your previous post was, however, very well written and informative ;) M-Powered and LE are indeed incredibly similar, however there are a few differences: M-Powered cannot use DV Toolkit or Complete Production Toolkit; the latter allowing track expansion to 128...

    using Boom

    Glad you got in working. Just to clarify, when you hit record on an instrument track, it will record the MIDI input, not the audio. An instrument track is actually a combination of an Aux channel, and a MIDI track. Before Pro Tools 7.3 (I think...) instrument tracks didn't exist, and to use...

    using Boom

    Are you trying to record the audio output? If so, make sure you are routing the output of your instrument track to an audio track via a bus. If you are just hitting record on an instrument track, and then just clicking buttons in Pro Tools, it's no wonder it's no recording...

    Instead of recording to a stereo track, create a mono track and record to that.

    8.0.4 to be last supported on XP/Vista/Leopard

    Vista = Crap and a flop. XP = Ancient Leopard = No longer current. What Austin said is correct - there's no point in developing for every OS under the sun. Traditionally support for old OS's is dropped pretty darn quick once a compatible version is released. I'm surprised that Leopard support...
