i'm glad somebody takes the time to answer perfectly reasonable questions instead of just taking cheap jabs.. the guy was obviously asking about analog recording to that format (since this is the analog only forum), and i have wondered that myself.. thanks ghost, now we know.
if you don't have...
thanks guys. i went to that website, and noticed there is a higher quality tape available (GP9).. would i have to reconfigure my r8 in any way to use the higher quality tape? are there any downsides?
i'll have to work on that kick drum. is it maybe because i compressed it on the way in? the kick drum is actually the only thing i compressed besides the vocals. the overall mix is not compressed at all, nor were any other drums or the overheads. i have a parametric eq, but i haven't used it...
thank you, this is what i'm looking for. i agree with most of your points. i always have to coax bands into louder vocals, the bands i work with are just local kids for the most part, and they never seem to be comfortable with their voices.. listen to any professional cd, i tell them, and...
gee guys. i'm being completely ignored.. this stuff isn't crap, i assure you. i thought you guys would enjoy ripping a new guy's recordings to shreds. come on, i'd like to hear some criticism.

part 2 of that post.. stupid server
2. are there any modifications you can do to this mixer to make it better? i have very little electronics experience, but have done some soldering on guitar pickups and such...
3. some of my channels are starting to act up. sometimes i have to jiggle...

1. how does this thing sound compared to budget mixers i might otherwise consider (such as the alesis studio...
hello. i got a used r8 for free (8 track, 1/4") under the understanding that it may or may not even be working properly. I just got some tape for it, but haven't tried to spool it up or whatever, as i'm completely new to analog tape. For this reason and for many others, i need a copy of the...
