anyone ever used a firepod with linux? I was thinking about setting up my laptop to dual boot while I live with a computer nerd. He runs linux on his thinkpad. Since we are graduating college in may, I want to set this up soon so he can help me through it. However, I am not going to bother if it...
Hmmm...I am most definitely going to get my first fretless bass to play around with on here. Anyone know the pros and cons of a short scale bass.? It seems like they could be fun/easy to play a little faster.
Also, if bands are playing a decent venue you should be able to like the previous poster said..grab the signals before they hit the board...but don't forget to bring at the very least your own stereo pair to mic the room. The board signals can be quite dry and if you don't get direct outs you...
Thanks...I was thinking about trying the recorderman method next time anyways so I will definitely bust of the msh's! Unfortunately I probably wont have any kind of set to mic for a while.
How should I position my msh-1O's as overheads?...I am pretty new to recording and have only worked with cardioid overheads and so I don't know how to position omni's very well.
Say what you will about the wallflowers but "Bringing Down the Horse" is a freaking clinic in perfect production put on by T. Bone Burnett. I have to say there are some great songs on that album as well.
I am familiar with many of the techniques for overheads with cardioid microphones but I plan on getting some of the msh-1o's soon and I was wondering what would be the best placement as drum overheads??
I always took the term bootlegging as illlegally recording a live show with the intent to distribute for profit. That is so very very wrong. If you are just going to go home and listen to the tapes yourself or give your friend a copy then who really cares and well I am all for bands allowing...
I believe you could just run the left output into the firepod into one of the inputs on the firepod. This will be a mono signal but for guitar that really shouldnt be a problem...maybe I am wrong...I am planning on getting a V amp pro within the next couple months. If only I had money...
Has anyone used the naiant drum package before and if so do you have a sample? I am looking for a budget solution for micing drums and I am looking to build up my mic locker a little bit. Otherwise I will probably just save up for some SP c4's an sm57 and some form of kick mic along the lines of...
Not to be mean but I would be surprised if you are able to sell it here in one package without cutting a reallly really good price, well basically because most people on this forum already have certain components and probably dont need everything in this package...that said if you break it up I...
Does anyone know anything about the pro version? I am thinking about getting a v amp 2 or a v amp pro for doing scratch tracks while tracking drums etc. I am wondering if the extra cash would be worth it.
Why not just buy another firepod and daisy chain them...voila 16 inputs (20 if using spdif)...If you dont want to spend the cash try to find someone selling one on here or on ebay.
