    i still feel the backing guitars lack something....... they lack "life" and seem to brittle.......I like how they are nice and crisp/present, but now it lacks body and "umpphhhh".

    i understand........ i am using my ears, cause both curves ive A/B'd against are both telling me it still doesnt sound right...... is this EQ matching tool just worthless junk then? I try to use it more of a learning application, so i can listen and see the changes so i know what to listen...

    ok, i did a complete remix on this. I took everyone's suggestions, and just re-did it. I also used a different "reference song" from the previous that i was listening to. how is it now? Should be completly different...

    ok, i lowered all guitars , added a bit of 750-800k on the snare to pop it up a bit, added some 3.5-4k in the bass guitar just to brighten it just a tad bit. how does it sound now? (same link above) the funny thing is....it sounds alot more brighter/clearer than first mix.........

    which guitar parts are overpowering? is it the lead guitar panned center? or the backing guitars panned left/right? do you think the guitars are a bit too smooth sounding, thus taking away the warmth of the drums? hence making them sound thin?

    i actually listen at 2 levels. One pretty low.....almost normal conversation speaking levels....i can almost hear the computer fan running the 2nd one pretty high, bass is now shaking the window glass..... after that, i again listen on a pair of headhones, and really jack the volume WAYYYYYY...

    I love the Waves SSL plugs........and if have not downloaded the Chris lord ALGE presets........do it! those presets are awesome starting points for drums........but beware of using his preset for electric guitar....it tends to be pretty bright. but like all presets, its a starting...
