    Just some random thoughts here. 1. A too hot of a signal from a condensor is not going to blow up a mic amp. Abusing the input of the pre by IMPROPERLY hot patching *will*. 2. Hot patching done properly is perfectly safe. 3. Desks do not have fuses in line with mic amps to protect them from...

    The V67G and V67M are the same mic. The differences come from the inconsistences from mic to mic.

    when the pattern changes, so does the sound. Multiple patterns can be very useful in helping you find a useable tone.

    Yes, do get a mic stand and a shock mount...but sometimes people *do* hold mics in the studio. YMMV.

    Whats your budget? You certainly record a whole band with only two mics, it's being done all the time. The rub lies in the room, you really have to have a great room to do it it. Hell, you really need good mics and pres too. So what do you want? Depends on the "quality" you want.

    lilcapn This is a 3 pin DIN connection..if you want to make a cable, here are the specs: 3 Pin DIN for 421: Pin 1 = hot, Pin 3 = cold, Pin 2 = Ground
