    Noise Suppresion Pedals

Cool, no major altering of the tone if it wasn't in your rig?

    Noise Suppresion Pedals

Thanks dude. I want the mod for the noise reduction that Monte Allums mods add to pedals and I'd like a bit of a tonal change, superficial or not. Anyways, you got a noise suppressor pedal you like?

    Noise Suppresion Pedals

Went to the Monte Allums site, $21.99 + shipping isn't a bad price and it's a much simpler mod than the last one I ordered from there, however upon opening my TS9DX, it may prove to be harder to do because of how much is packed in on such a small board. I'm gonna go ahead and get it and see what...

    Noise Suppresion Pedals

Thank you! I'm gonna look into that mod for the TS9DX. Do you have any suggestions for a specific noise suppressor pedal? And I did tone down the gain and up the volume, the noise isn't so bad anymore, but I'm definitely gonna need a noise suppressor as I turn the volume up as I plan on...

    Noise Suppresion Pedals

Well I'm trying to combine the tone and gain levels of their second and third LPs. But so I know, IS A NOISE SUPPRESSOR A SOUND INVESTMENT WHEN USING HIGH GAIN AND SINGLE COILS???

    Noise Suppresion Pedals

Dude, I don't care what you think about my rig, I like how it sounds. I just want to know if a noise suppressor is a solid investment when using high gain though a single-coil. But to clarify, what I meant by "EQ" in your second point was that the gain knob on the boost channel has a pull...

    Noise Suppresion Pedals

So I figured out the that the problem from my previous thread. It was just a ton of gain mixed with a single-coil pickup. And so I'm asking you for your opinions on noise suppression pedals and high gain mixed with single-coils. My rig is my Ampeg ADA6 (with the single-coil in), Ibanez TS9-DX...

    Peavey bandit 112

It's all about the Bandit 75. That amp is a beast, those make from some crisp sounding tones. I always liked their reverb, but to each his own. Peavey used to make some damn good amps is all there is to say, haha.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

Never knew that. Well that impossible to do that. You can't route Plexiglas.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

The bottom of the pickup has a bit of a dip in it, maybe I should put some foil shielding in that dip then?

    Terrible Noise From Amp

I just dont think there;'s a way to shield that cavity since the pickup is snug in it. I could shield the cavity where all the wiring is though.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

And now things seem to be better... Whatever, I'm over it.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

Yeah that's what I said. There's no way to really shield the pickups in an ADA6 I could shield the cavity though. Well I can try again with my Strat... Also, I'm taking the TS9-DX out of rig it doesn't do much more than add noise and a tiny bit of gain and sensitivity.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

When I change the direction I play, the buzzing only slightly dissipates and comes back when I move again. So that's not really it. I checked the guitar with another amp, albeit without gain, the guitar is not grounded.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

The TS9-DX sucks on an amp with its distortion/gain engaged, either that or my pedal just has a bad ground. Thanks for all your help. Oh, my ADA6 does have a bad ground but I need to figure out where first, is there any way to figure that out?

    Terrible Noise From Amp

I think the wire to the bridge is bad, because the ground is not working at all.
  17. Walt-Dogg

    Terrible Noise From Amp

Well it's a tiny better now, not by much, so it's gotta be something else.

    Terrible Noise From Amp

I got the buzz but when I touch the strings it DOESN'T go away. I tried soldering it, but the bridge piece doesn't take solder too well so I used electrical tape to hold it. Also I think another source of the problem might be that I dont have the screw to hold the pickup in place. So I took...

    Terrible Noise From Amp

Well on my Ampeg AMG100 and my Strat they are, not buzzing issues when I plug into my amp

    Terrible Noise From Amp

Sorry for the double post, but so it isn't overlooked. I pulled the bridge out and to my horror I discovered that the ground wire ISN'T soldered to the bridge piece. So I'm guessing I should just solder the wire ends (it's stripped back and frayed) to the bridge piece to get a better ground?
