    Battle Of The $40.00 Condesor's

The V63 and V57 are the same mic, only the V63 has the battery power option. Damn nice mic for the price. Don't know about the MCA, but I wouldn't bet on it. The V57/V63/1006 can be really good on male vocals. I imagine it would be pretty good for rap (with a pop filter), since it has a nice...

    Live Recordings

Even, Do you by any chance have a recording of this piezzo setup? I have yet to hear anything that a piezzo sounds good on, but I'm curious about how drums sound with it. Oren

Replace my C1000S with what cheap condenser?

MXL V57. 40$ at Musician's Friend, and beats the hell out of the C1000. Great on overheads, accoustic guitar and some voices. Oren

    since I was 17

Cool as always mate! You really stretch the limits of your 25 Euro mic... My little sister just walked in the room and heared the tune, and asked if you're planing to tour worldwide... :D Keep it up! Oren

    MXL V57M Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic

Hmmm... I just looked up core sound, and I see htat the mic comes with a battery box, so I guess you don't need one. Better yet! Oren

    MXL V57M Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic

Walter, Here's the thing with the stereo mic. First, it will only work with a special plug-in power supply, like you have in your MD's stereo input. In order to connect it to regular mic preamps, you need a battery box in the middle. Then, you need a sereo to 2 mono 1/4" cable, to plug the mic...

    MXL V57M Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic

Haven't heared your samples (no time now), but I do own the 57, as well as a Minidisc and elecret mics, and I'm telling you, you won't be dissapointed. Especially for 40$. Go for it. Oren

    Fill in the gaps

I know how to add space between songs in the burning program (I use Nero). What I want to know, is how to put another WAV file (I guess) that would play in this "space". Am I making any sense at all? :D Oren

    V57 for $40

They're not as "late night DJ" sounding as the V67. For lack of a better word, I'd use "airy", but not as bright/harsh as the V93. It has a slight boost in the ~200hz range. It usually takes some EQ on most voices. Personally, I love it on solo accoustic guitars. Comparing to the SM-57... These...

    Fill in the gaps

Many commercial CDs "fill in the gaps" between songs with these "intro" bits. I'm not sure I'm explaining it correctly, but I mean these 2 or three seconds of gap inserted between the songs during the burning process, that appear as -1, -2 on your CD players. Any idea how to do that? Oren

    V57 for $40

I wish they would ship worldwide... I already have one, and for some applications, this mic just works. For some singers, it fits like nothing else. I paid 80$ for mine at Sam Ash, about two years ago, and it was considered a steal... Oren

    a "heartful" recording

Haven't tried it myself (but I will later... this is really sick! :D ), but maybe you can tape a contact mic, such as a Radio Shack piezzo buzzer to your chest. Could work.... Oren

    behringer mixers

I had a MX602, and have a MX1604. These are all I could afford, and for the price, they are doing a pretty good job. As far as quality control, I heared many horror stories, and Mr. Q could share some of his own, I'm sure, but if you tripple check everything in the store, and make sure that they...

New Mix-Blues Rocker... Ready for Mastering?

Hey Axe, You can bring up the volume on the solo by drawing volume envelopes. It's quick and easy. Still haven't hadd a chance to listen to the tune, but I will later today. Take care, Oren

HELP soundblaster live + mixer = trouble!

Hmmpf... Hmmmpf... How is your mixer connected to the computer? Tape Out to Line In? Main Mix to Line In? These are the only possibilities that really should work. Also, check if the cables going into the computer are ok. Check out the recording level on AudioTools (If you're in the red zone...

Bought M-Audio What else do I need?

Since the 410 has multiple outputs, the only way to properly use them is to get a mixer. That way you could do you mixes analog style. A 16 channel Behringer mixer (hardly top quality stuff, but it would get you going, and supply you with four more-or-less usable preamps) would cost you about...

    Nady quality?

Saveyourself the agony. I have one Nady mic, and it was useless from the day I bought it (I got it from the US, so I couldn't send it back). 80$ I'll never see again...

Help a poor aussie find an acoustic guitar mic...

I gotta say I'm impressed. I guess it won't work for every playing style, but for the price, this is pretty damn good. What kind of guitar are you using? Mic position? Oren
