    "Swagger"

Translates really well actually. I just listened to it on my monitors and then switched to my cheap earbuds. On both it was thumping pretty hard. I would leave it as it is. Good work.

What do you guys think of this mix?

Hello. I think you could have a good song, but it needs some work. The are some performance problems, such as the clean guitar sounding out of tune, vocals are sometimes out of tune, slight timing issues, etc. I'd fix all that first because those will ruin a song faster than any mix problems. As...

    The Forest Feedback Appreciated

I think the bass and guitar sound good, but the vocals have a few pitch problems and also they aren't also understandable. I think they need a bit more treble, some reverb/delay and maybe more compression. The drums are also way too raw in my opinion. I know other people like different things...

    New one "For Her"

The rhythm guitars ar really boxy. It don't know the exact frequency, but I'm guessing it's someplace between 300hz and 900hz. Find the frequency and cut it on the rhythm and lead gtrs. Then bring up volume a little bit. Adding some top end to the snare wouldn't hurt either. The biggest problem...

    Game music

Here are 2 songs I wrote for video games. The first is supposed to sound futuristic and the second is an ethnic theme. Thoughts? https://www.box.com/shared/qigzd6u6yn2ajxij4gor https://www.box.com/shared/rgg94wjw9gpodanp5iii

    Ethnic game music

I wrote this peice for a video game contest. It's Indian music I guess, although to be honest I'm not sure how authentic is it. Anyway, do you have thoughts on the mix, arrangement, etc. Thanks https://www.box.com/s/rgg94wjw9gpodanp5iii

    Opinion on this mix

The cymbals are a bit harsh and it seems pretty small and quiet over all. There isn't much bottom end and when the other insturments come in there isn't much real impact. Try adding some bass and eq the cymbals. Maybe try some reverb to glue everything together and make it sound thicker.

    Mixing and Mastering Engineer??

That wasn't even worth $5. It sounds worse than when you sent it to him. The only thing he improved was the kick drum. Everything else sounds worse.

    Mixing gone wrong?

If you only have laptop speakers to mix on don't bother mixing. They don't have enough bass response . You aren't going to be able to hear what you're supposed to be eqing. It would be like trying to paint while wearing 2 pairs of sunglasses. If you're going to have access to something better to...

    New Original Metalcore Mix

Turn everything down and get rid of that limiter. The compression on the track is making some of the drum hits sound weird and I'm sure it's altering the tone of the whole track. On your sound cloud you have "As I lay dying" as a tag, so I decided to listen to a bit of them on YouTube. Their...

    Craig Schmidt - Untitled - Rock/Alternative

The drums sounded really good, but they overpowered the song. They are also a little raw and personally I like more polish, but that's more a matter of taste. Your vocal is too loud(effect too) compared to the rest of the instruments. I'm guessing it might be a problem with eq. Your electric...

    Original orchestral music

I'm happy with it, but I'm not satisfied with it if that makes sense. It's certainly not perfect and I can hear the flaws, but on the other hand the price to sound ratio is really good IMO. Before I bought it I was comparing my options and it seemed like the best option overall. EWQL gold looks...

    Original orchestral music

Thanks. It's almost impossible to fool people who actually play the instrument. Besides sample quality you also have to think like a player of the instrument and if you can do that you just play the part yourself. Anyway, as long as it doesn't sound so fake that it ruins people's enjoyment of...

Feedback on first mix in my new studio please

That's too bad about the bass. One thing you can try is getting a clip from the first part of the song and replacing the distorted part with a copy from the first part(undistorted). It might require some clever editing, but it usually can be done. Then once there is no distortion on the bass...

Feedback on first mix in my new studio please

The performances are great and the mix is perfect except for one thing. There isn't enough bass. It sounds hollow because it is missing info in the lows and lower mids. I'd bring up the bass, double the guitar track using a way darker sound and perhaps slap a saturation plugin on the bass. I...

    Original orchestral music

Here is a song I wrote recently that is more in the classical vein. I'm trying to stretch out and write a greater variety of pieces to keep things fresh and also avoid falling into a writing slump. I bought Garritan personal orchestra a few days ago and this is my first song using the software...

    Impressions of this mix

It's shame it was recorded like that. The vocal is clipping and the mic has way too much mid range. I don't think it will possible to salvage it unfortunately.

    'Waves' (a rock/metal demo)

The drums need work. The bass and guitars don't sound too bad, but the drums need to come up, and have some fx put on them. The song itself is cool, but try using a reference track to get your drums closer to where they need to be. I struggle to make my drums sound good also, so good luck.

New mix for my first instrumental EP album

Sounds pretty good. I think the bass drum is little too loud though. I think it's eating up the headroom in your mix. I turn that down and maybe add some top end to some other instruments, like the guitars. The mix sounds good, but it lacks some air. It also doesn't seem to have much width. I...
